The Supervisor, the Champion, and the Promoter: What psychological personality tests reveal about Clinton, Obama, and McCain.

By Emily Yoffe
Posted Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at 6:50 AM ET

It’s time again to apply the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to our presidential candidates. (I did not include Mike Huckabee in my evaluations, because I couldn’t bring myself to imagine a Huckabee administration.) The MBTI was developed by a mother-daughter team that wanted a practical application for the ideas of personality developed by Jung. By mixing and matching four poles of personal style—extravert and introvert being the best known—the women came up with 16 personality types. Read more about it here. For reference, I used two books co-authored by MBTI consultant Otto Kroeger, Type Talk and Type Talk at Work. And I relied on psychologist David Keirsey’s revision of the 16 personality types. Keirsey sorted these into four overarching categories: Artisans, Guardians, Idealists, and Rationals. (He describes his classifications in the book Please Understand Me II and at this Web site, www.keirsey.com.)

Such personality testing is often derided by academia, but it’s used widely by corporations, the military, and government to understand different leadership styles and the dynamics of working in groups. Finding out your personality type requires answering dozens of questions such as, “Do you find visionaries and theorists a) somewhat annoying [or] b) rather fascinating?” and “When finishing a job, do you like to a) tie up all the loose ends [or] b) move on to something else)?” Figuring the candidates wouldn’t fill out their own questionnaires, I studied their biographies and came to my own conclusions.

Hillary Clinton is a Guardian, and her specific type is an ESTJ, what Keirsey calls “the Supervisor.” Supervisors are, Keirsey says, steadfast, cautious, methodical. They are the reliable, detail-oriented people without whom organizations and society fall apart—which is something ESTJs won’t hesitate to point out. “[T]heir first instinct is to take charge and tell others what to do,” says Keirsey. They are “devoted public servants, seeing their role in government … in almost sacred terms of self-sacrifice and service to others.” This service is an obligation, not given “freely and joyously.” As columnist Richard Cohen observed about Hillary, “Whether she meant to or not, she has presented herself as a model of caution, of experience hard-earned and not enjoyed. …”

Keirsey says Guardians’ “self-esteem is greatest when they present themselves as dependable, trustworthy or accountable in shouldering their responsibilities.” In other words, an ESTJ wants everyone to know she’s “ready to be president on Day 1.” According to Please Understand Me II (all the quotes are from the books), about half of our presidents, from George Washington to George H.W. Bush, have been Guardians, with Harry Truman being an ESTJ like Hillary (she loves to quote Truman’s “The buck stops here.”).

Guardian leaders are not the big thinkers or the bold doers (although they can take bold action if they carefully conclude that’s what the circumstance requires). They have, says Keirsey, “a stabilizing and consolidating effect.” In a New Yorker profile of Hillary, George Packer wrote that her now-infamous remark that it took a president to realize Martin Luther King’s dream reflected Hillary’s belief that “the Presidency is more about pushing difficult legislation through a fractious Congress than it is about transforming society.”

ESTJs are most comfortable in the world of the specific. Keirsey says they will listen politely to “theoretical or fanciful” conversation—what an ESTJ surely thinks of as a certain other candidate’s gasbaggery—then “shift to more concrete things to talk about, more solid and sensible topics” using their ability to call up at will “an enormous fund of facts.” (Ever heard a Hillary speech?)

It is this ESTJ-ness that may explain the failure of Hillary’s health-care initiative as first lady. ESTJs like nothing better than digging deep into the specifics of a system and batting out proposals with trusted staff, then presenting the perfect fait accompli to a grateful public. As Kroeger points out, ESTJs can be stunned when the plans fail: “Having packaged the argument so neatly and precisely, how could anyone possibly disagree?” Keirsey says this blindness comes from the concrete-thinking ESTJ’s pronounced weakness at the abstract arts of strategy and diplomacy. Hillary neither foresaw the attacks by competing interests nor had the people skills to win over her opponents.

Referring to ESTJs, Kroeger says, “[O]f all the sixteen types this is the most conventionally masculine.” The New York Times‘ Maureen Dowd pointed out that actor Jack Nicholson called Hillary “the best man for the job,” and Hillary said on David Letterman, “In my White House, we’ll know who wears the pantsuits.” But Hillary also revealed the struggle of the ESTJ woman when she told Packer, “[T]he world is only beginning to recognize that women should be permitted the same range of leadership styles that we permit men.”

The Guardians’ steadfast posture also applies to their marriages. Keirsey writes that they are “extremely loyal to their mates and feel obliged to stand by them in times of trouble and help them straighten up and fly right. As a result, Guardians more easily than any other temperament can be hooked into becoming the rescuer of troubled mates.” (Bill Clinton is an ESFP, what Keirsey calls “the Performer”—”thriving on the excitement of being on-stage.” ESFPs are also “inclined to be impulsive and self-indulgent, which makes them vulnerable to seduction.”)

The ESTJ can, to her detriment, says Keirsey, see the world as inhabited by good people and bad people. Think of the “vast right-wing conspiracy” or how Hillary touts her “battle scars.” In The New Yorker, a former friend said of her, “Hillary needs enemies.”

Kroeger writes that ESTJs “do not cope well when things don’t go as planned.” They have a “short fuse when anything suggests they are losing control. The ESTJ can become loud, rigid, domineering, and can induce a great deal of stress within anyone nearby.” If Truman was “Give ‘Em Hell Harry,” then the current ESTJ seeking the highest office could end up nicknamed “Go to Hell Hillary.”

Barack Obama—no one will be surprised to learn—is an Idealist. His specific type is an ENFP, what Keirsey calls “the Champion.” ENFPs, says Keirsey, are “filled with conviction that they can easily motivate those around them.” Champions work to “kindle, to rouse, to encourage, even to inspire those close to them with their enthusiasm.” Idealists “usually have a tongue of silver” and are “gifted in seeing the possibilities” of institutions and people. Here’s Obama on leadership: “[W]e need leaders to inspire us. Some are thinking about our constraints, and others are thinking about limitless possibility.”

This ability to move people through imagery and rhetoric carries a danger for the ENFP, says Keirsey—a belief in “word magic.” “Word magic refers to the ancient idea that words have the ability to make things happen—saying makes it so.” This is the basis of the critique of Obama by his less-soaring opponents. Hillary complains that people ask her to “give us one of those great rhetorical flourishes and then, you know, get everybody all whooped up.” (As if she could.) Says John McCain, “To encourage a country with only rhetoric is not a promise of hope. It is a platitude.”

Keirsey says Idealist leaders should be called catalysts because “[t]he individual who encounters such a leader is likely to be motivated, animated, even inspired to do his or her very best work.” The New Yorker’s Packer writes, “Obama offers himself as a catalyst by which disenchanted Americans can overcome two decades of vicious partisanship. …”

Idealists are deeply introspective. According to Keirsey, their “self-confidence rests on their authenticity,” which makes them “highly aware of themselves as objects of moral scrutiny.” Idealists, such as Thomas Paine, Mohandas Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr., tend to be leaders of movements, not office-holders. If Obama is elected, not only would he be the first black president, but according to Keirsey, he’d be the first Idealist president. (Kroeger speculates that Lincoln may have been an Idealist.) Idealists are rare in any executive position. In a survey Kroeger did of the personality types who make it to top management, less than 1 percent were ENFPs—while almost 30 percent were Hillary’s type, the ESTJ. But the 16 types are not evenly distributed in the population and ENFPs themselves are rare—Keirsey estimates only about 2 percent of people are ENFPs. Kroeger says the ENFP can be an effective boss. “At their best they bring a refreshing alternative style to top management and decision making.”

Keirsey says that the Idealist is the unusual leader who is “comfortable working in a climate where everyone has a vote.” In a Vanity Fair profile, Todd Purdum quotes a Harvard Law School classmate of Obama’s describing his collaborative style as editor of the Law Review. Obama was “someone who wanted the group decisions to reflect the group’s intent, not Barack’s intent.” (This classmate added, “I actually would have been happier for him to say sometimes, ‘This is how we’re doing this, and shut up!’ “) Wanting inclusiveness has been a hallmark of Obama’s career and his campaign. Purdum noted that in the Illinois Legislature, “Obama made friendships across the aisle” and used his people skills to get some difficult legislation passed. In a speech, Obama described this ability: “If you start off with an agreeable manner, you might be able to … recruit some independents into the fold, recruit even some Republicans into the fold.”

As leaders, Keirsey says, the Idealists possess a “diplomatic intelligence.” They “seek common ground,” want to “forge unity,” arrive at “universal truths,” and are “trusting.” Given these qualities, it should be no surprise that Obama says that as president, he would quickly sit down with our enemies. He told Paris Match, “I want to have direct talks with countries like Iran and Syria because I don’t believe we can stabilize the region unless not just our friends but also our enemies are involved in these discussions.”

Plans such as this have resulted in Hillary Clinton, Rudy Giuliani, and others accusing the possible next commander in chief of naiveté. Keirsey says the Idealist has to be careful not to make errors in judgment by projecting “their own attributes onto others.” Because they tend to have a positive outlook, they can be “surprised when people or events do not turn out as anticipated.”

The ENFP can have a problem with “restlessness,” says Kroeger. “As a task or responsibility drags on and its mantle becomes increasingly routine, the ENFP can become more pensive, moody, and even rigid.” Obama himself referred in a debate to his disorganization and dislike of paperwork—and his self-knowledge that “I need to have good people in place who can make sure that systems run.” But as Purdum writes, it is Obama’s “restlessness” that prompted him “to take a chance, to aim higher—when others told him to wait his turn.”

John McCain is an Artisan, and his specific type is an ESTP, what Keirsey calls the Promoter. The ESTP is, according to Keirsey, “practical, optimistic, cynical, and focused on the here and now.” If the ESTP portrait gives you a feeling of déjà vu, it’s because George W. Bush is an ESTP, too. They are a common presidential type: Both Roosevelts, JFK, and LBJ were ESTPs. “Artisans need to be potent, to be felt as a strong presence and they want to affect the course of events,” writes Keirsey. They hunger to “have a piece of the action,” “to make something happen” whether “on the battlefield” or “in the political arena.” So many politicians are Artisans because “politics allows not only for maneuvering, excitement, and risk—but for powerful social impact.”

In a Newsweek profile of McCain, Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine said, “He’s a real player in the Senate. He has tremendous impact.” As McCain said to Esquire, “I get attacked everyday because I’m working with Ted Kennedy. How can I work with Kennedy? Because I want to get something done.”

“Artisans also make everyone else look like amateurs when it comes to improvising survival tactics,” writes Keirsey. Their wily ability to make do in dire circumstances makes them “successful scroungers as prisoners of war.” Newsweek describes how “McCain survived in prison camp by sheer cussedness.”

Artisans “are not threatened by the possibility of failure in themselves or others, so they are likely to take risks and encourage others to do the same.” That is how a man whose election prospects were dim only a few months ago can say to the Washington Post of the campaign, “Actually, it’s been very invigorating, it really has been.”

Promoters have strong people skills, but it is not the warm sense of connection one gets from an Idealist like Obama. “Promoters are so engaging … that they might seem to possess an unusual amount of empathy, when in fact this is not the case,” writes Keirsey. “Rather, they are uncanny at reading people’s faces and observing their body language.” Or as the Wall Street Journal recently wrote, “When Mr. McCain took the stage in Sun City, the applause was polite. When he finished, he got a standing ovation. … [H]is ability to sense and ride the emotional flow of an audience is astonishing.”

Grand theories are not for the ESTP. “No high-flown speculation for the Artisan, no deep meaning or introspection. [They] focus on what actually happens in the real world, on what works, on what pays off, and not on whose toes get stepped on.” This is how you get labeled a “maverick” and “Sen. Hothead.” This is why the Wall Street Journal writes, “Mr. McCain’s great political strength has also been his main weakness, which is that his political convictions are more personal than ideological.”

Keirsey says Artisans “are the world’s great risk-takers. They delight in putting themselves in jeopardy, taking chances, facing hazards.” (Does this sound familiar? See: Iraq.) When times call for careful planning, or consistent, long-term management, you don’t call on the ESTP. Keirsey writes that they “may be careless about details” or “they can be unprepared at times when preparation is called for, and can spring the unexpected on colleagues.” “They are like firemen who, having nothing to do set fires so that they can put them out.”

If I where the campaign strategist of Hillary Clinton, granted that she had a positive impact towards the women in society I’m going to advice her to mingle with the men in the society and break the connotation of gender campaign. As what I have observed in United States, people there are not ready to have a female president, then I recommend that she do lots of television appearance commenting on issues or problems faced by United States of America considering that television is one of the easiest way to relay information and influence the public, so that in one way or another people will accept her, realize that she is not just a woman, a first lady and the wife of the former United States President Bill Clinton but to see her as a credible and very qualified person to be the president of the country. About the issue that will be discussed, I suggest that she should give additional attention to three critical issues that will decide the 2008 Presidential election are: (a) the war in Iraq and the war on terror, in which she should take a stand on fighting terrorism wherein the polls showed strong support for the war in Iraq. Although we have not experienced a direct terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11, experts agree another attack is imminent. Next is health Care, she should propose a medicare reforms to attend to needs of those who are concerned about retirement and rising health care costs. With forty-eight million Americans without health insurance, we face a pending disaster with huge financial consequences. (c) lastly, address the issue on illegal immigration wherein the astronomical rate of twelve to twenty million illegal immigrants living in the United States has created alarming social and economic instabilities, not to mention the ability of terrorists to cross our borders unchecked with the sole objective of inflicting harm upon American citizens. With this I believe she will win the presidential election.

according to what I’ve heard about the election in the uniyed states sometimes, its not the family background that determines how you are going to rule on a certain country, its really on the attitude and character of a person, for that reason, i will give my vote if ever to obama. i’ve read a little bit of obama’s platforms, from the quoted quote on his web page, “I’m asking you to believe, not just in my ability to bring about real change in washington … I’m asking you to believe in yours…” isnt it time to change the politicians taht rule over in the united states.. its just like in the philippines, in taht their mayor is the wife of theit former mAyor and now allegedly have been corrupted a big municipal money from their starwitness accountant,, i’m not saying that this scenario is happening in the united states,, taht only means, that we should change the people in the government that ruled over so many years… its not taht the clinton family done bad things in their constituents but on the other hand trying something new is always better than to stick to the old one..

7. John Ed Rey - February 9, 2008

wala rin akong gaanong alam tungkol sa takbo ng pulitika sa Amerika. pero i think i will vote for Obama. iboboto ko siya kc kapag nanalo siya, he will become part of American and African history as the first african american president. although ganun din naman si clinton. siya rin ung first female president of US. based rin kasi sa nabasa ko, mas my experience si Obama kesa ky Clinton. 7 yrs pa lng senator c Clinton while c Obama nmn eh 7 yrs as state senator & 3 yrs as US senator.
i think na pag nanalo c Clinton, mgpapadikta lng siya sa dating presidente na si bill clinton na asawa nia. bka hndi siya mkapag desisyon ng sarili nia..

It is really a tough fight between the two Democratic Party representative for the 2008 presidential election. Both of them were working so hard and doing all their best just to gain more support. Looking on their campaign platforms, both of them got good platforms, issues were looked at even in the slightest point. I can say, that they almost have the same agenda but the question is, who’s more practical? Who’s agenda is more applicable? Who’s more effective in convincing people?

Certainly, Senator Barck Obama is doing a good job on his campaigns and speeches. Honestly, I’m really impressed with his rhetorics and appeal to emotion speeches. It will really sink into you. But, what everyone want is not just rhetorical speeches but actions. Every believes that action speak louder than words.

With regard to that, many political analysts, view that Senator Hilary Clinton, is more experienced than Senator Obama, and its just because she became Fisrt Lady when his husband Bill Clinton sat in White House. But, what is experience? Previous presidents have been governors, or had a longer term in the Senate or House, before taking office. All of these experiences prepare a person to operate within the system, rather than to change the system.

Yet change is precisely what U. S. needs. and Senator Obama has correctly pointed out that the two of the most experienced people in Washington, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney, have led the U.S. into the disaster of Iraq.

A focus on experience is also a way to avoid talking about qualities such as leadership, intelligence, courage, fairness, judgment, temperament and integrity—qualities that truly matter in a leader. and Senator Obama’s what most call as “lack of experience” has developed these qualities necessary for a leader. Senator Obama, should prove this to make people realize that its not only the experience that matters.

Another point, that I will advise Senator Obama to continue and give focus is his platform for civil rights. Still there is racial discrimination in U. S. and most people experiencing these are the what they call “blacks”. I believe that Senator Obama, will the one to put an end to this. Not only if he will seat in office, he will prove to every Americans that even he is “black” he did it, he can also give his fellow “blacks’ inspiration not to let anyone, step on them, on their rights.

Senator Obama, champions civil rights which most people would love because it is their rights that are protected. Include in his Civil Right platform is fairness in the criminal justice system throughout his career. Obama also litigated employment discrimination, housing discrimination, and voting rights cases. Examples of his works for civil rights were, as a State Senator, Obama passed one of the country’s first racial profiling laws and helped reform a broken death penalty system. And in the U.S. Senate, Obama has been a leading advocate for protecting the right to vote, helping to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act and leading the opposition against discriminatory barriers to voting.

Another big issue in the U. S. that many Americans opposed is the war on Iraq, and Senator Obama put his political career on the line to oppose going to war in Iraq, and warned of “an occupation of undetermined length, with undetermined costs, and undetermined consequences.” Obama has been a consistent, principled and vocal opponent of the war in Iraq. Now the consequences were hunting the U. S. down, in the U. S. economy and its international relations. Senator Obama still clinging to his view that war on iraq will do harm to U. S. and included in his platform is the end of war on Iraq and extend a hand to help it recover. And make U. S. recover as well on its fast increasing debt.

That’s it..Actaully, I enjoyed reading Obama & Clinton’s platforms & plans..haha! nice task s’jan..

How Hillary Clinton will win over Barack Obama

Thus far, after the Super Tuesday, the democrats still have no clear presidential nominee. Base on the latest tally, the pledged delegates of the democrats are almost evenly divided between Clinton and Obama.

According to many American political analysts, the key issues on this year’s presidential election that the voters are looking into are the war in Iraq, healthcare, the economy, jobs and immigration policy. Clinton and Obama are both in favor for American troop pullout on Iraq, they are also pushing for reform on healthcare, and both are for strengthening the middle class to have economic reform and in favor of amending the current immigration policy for the 12 million illegal immigrants who wants to be an American citizen.

That is why the democrats are almost evenly distributed between Clinton and Obama — they almost have the same platforms on key issues (they only differ on the way of addressing these issues). So, what will be the deciding factor?

If I will be given a chance to be a political strategist for Hillary Clinton, I will advise her to start courting the unpledged delegates or commonly known as “superdelegates” of the Democratic Party. Since the race is very close for the two presidential hopefuls, I believe that the superdelegates will play a crucial role this time on choosing their standard-bearer.
What are the superdelegates: a super class of super Democrats, each of whom could vote at the convention for a candidate of choice — in effect, giving each of these Democrats the power of tens of thousands of average citizens. Who are they? Democratic members of Congress, governors, big-shot party members: Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, for example.
Base on the website of Hillary, she has more superdelegates supporters than Obama. But Clinton should not be complacent on this numbers. They can change their mind anytime. If they see, that Obama is getting more and more popular support than Clinton, they may jump to the camp of the former. The only thing Clinton should do is to secure the votes of the superdelegates. If she can do this, no doubt that she will win the democratic nomination.

if i will be the campaign strategist of Obama i will just advise him to strengthen the fight against discrimination between whites and coloureds not just in US but also around the world- countries which were known that have widespread discrimination among them. this is a great problem in his country so it shud not be neglected.

there are a lot more strategies that he can emphasize but i guess this one shud be prioritize

18. Joyce S. Abiday - February 11, 2008

if i’m going to vote for the U.S. president, i will prefer to choose Hillary Clinton. It is not because of his husband, the former president of the U.S. but to give the chance to the U.S. to have a female president. It is time to prove to them that not only males have the power to direct or the capability to be a leader but also females.

19. anna - February 11, 2008

i think for someone to win he needs to have allot of money. . . so i would suggest they fatten their wallets. . . and of course they have to be truthful and trustworthy. . . and be smart and speak eloquently . . .
but if i were to choose. . . i would choose. . .
well i don’t really know, for they all seem to be really credible. i think no matter who wins it would be of positive outcome. . . they just talk rudely to each other because thats how things are. . . in politics at least. . .

26. analen_b_sanchez - February 11, 2008

I can see that the Democrat candidates were really working hard for their campaigns. Honestly, I don’t have any idea of their platforms..i tried to go over their websites and speeches just to have a crop of idea on how they dream for american nation.
I was impressed on the platforms of Barack Obama..if i were an american voter..i would entrust my vote for him..though his speeches was kindda rhetoric..i felt his sincerrity..most of his platforms emphasizes the common american people..just like me..a common person.
“I’m asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington … I’m asking you to believe in yours.”–this line strucked me. He have catched my vote for he is a peace-loving senator/cadidate..he emphasized the role and wotrh of youth..for the youth is the hope of the future..he fights for equalities and non-discriminatory on different aspects.
If I would be one of his campaign strategist..I would advice him to strenghten his advocacies and platforms on education,a non-discriminatory society. To catched the hearts of common people and to prioritize poor americans.
I believed that american politics really needs a break..a change that could positively achieve through obama’s platforms..american future lies on their hands..it is them who really knows whose candidate’s platforms would work and possible to be achieve..I believed that Obama is the medium for america’s change..(“,)

27. jeremeelwaniwan - February 11, 2008

if i will serve as a strategist, i would serve for Barck Obama… i think their both good, but on my opinion, having a black president will have more positive effects..
i think it would be such a foolish act to give some advice on matters I really dont know… i realy have no idea on what is going on there,, but still i have come up with my biggest advice for him… “say a little PRAYER Obama..”

28. remylyn - February 11, 2008

HILLARY vs OBAMA vs McCAIN

Watching boxing and trying to determine who will win in the game is far easy than looking the profiles of the US presidential candidates and trying to figure out who will be the next most important being in the White House to be seated in the glorious throne, the most seek after position in government office. At any rate to draw a conclusion in this matter would eventually help me to be an active human being created to live life with full of spices. This is one of the spices in life….to face things that you think you are not capable of going through!
Too much for my introduction (an introduction that aims to add spice for my comment), just to make it long…..
Well, if a person believes right, he will live right but if he thinks wrong, he will live wrong! People are driven to act because of what they believe in, things that they considered right. So as to the foreign policies that the three candidates for president of United States will eventually reflect what will they be if they got elected….Here are the foreign policies they will try to push through if they will get through….
Hillary
Foreign Policy Positions: Senator Clinton voted in favor of the war in Iraq, but has since been highly critical of how the war’s execution. She’s called for the U.S. to lead renewed international cooperation on Iraq and a number of other issues. Clinton has had mixed positions on free trade issues. She is a leading supporter of Israel and has been outspoken on the failure to end genocide in Darfur.
Obama
Foreign Policy Positions: Senator Obama opposed the war in Iraq. He advocates a regional conference involving Syria and Iran as one part of an ultimate Iraq solution. He has partnered with GOP Senator Richard Lugar in efforts to fight proliferation of nuclear weapons. Obama has also spoken out on the importance of energy independence and the need for U.S. leadership in dealing with global climate change.
McCain
Foreign Policy Positions: McCain voted in favor of the Iraq war, and he says the U.S. may need to increase the number of troops there to restore order. He has supported almost all of President Bush’s “War on Terror” bills. McCain generally supports free trade. He has called for strong action(including a NATO-enforced “no fly” zone) to end genocide in Darfur. Global climate change is seen by some as McCain’s “signature issue”.

Knowing the above data, I will choose Mr. Barack Obama, not just for the fact that he is an African American who inevitably will make a history of America, a wonderful history for the reason of breaking the racial discrimination in US. I appreciate the foreign policies of Obama such as the ending the terror of the war on Iraq-innocent lives are wasted on both parties affecting their relationships with the neighboring countries and countries part of their sphere of influence, the promoting energy independence-one of the reasons why US get entangled with the middle east countries is because of oil, because of the high need, US tend to compromise with other countries, a compromising country just to get what the country wanted -this must be addressed immediately, next is to fight proliferation of nuclear weapons- weapons that will surely bring destruction to the world; this is a global goal which I think should not be taken for granted especially in the coming years.

Above all, I just like Obama. I don’t want Hillary because too much floor had already given to her, her family as a whole. However, McCain is I think another president Bush in his being since they almost have same aims in life just like their position in the war on Iraq.

So among the three, the winner for me is OBAMA!

John McCain…
i can see that he’s the best candidate fo 2008
it’s because he is well experienced in terms of politics…
he also has a well known military experience…

its definitely a democrat year., :) its gonna be obama for me. :) eventhough he’s relatively new in politics compared to clinton, obama has impressed more people than i’ve expected.

31. iola vianka - February 12, 2008

it seems that as for now, Hillary Clinton is winning the race over Barack Obama,, so i’d rather suggest some tactics to the latter…..

it is a fact that Obama already has the vote of the youth in America,, so in oder to gain the vote of the women and elders, he needs to promote projects that will benefit the former and the latter.

also, he should have plans on how to improve America’s economy and maintain it as it is. because as of now, the U.S.’ economy is down,,,

in addition, prioritizing education is a must.. because a well-educated country has the potential to be number one, and maintain its place if the learning will continue.

lastly… don’t hesitate to give and give,,, for the reward will be much better than what you are aiming for.

and if he loose… he should accept it with a smile,, and support Hillary at her journey with no other intentions than to help serve the people. and if the former wins, the latter should do the same… :) :) :)

Obama should be the next President of United States for many reason. As I have searched about him, he seems to be a man of great faith having a good idea. One of a good reason why I want him to be the next President is I like the way he stand on his self confidence like on how he stand proving that he can beat Clinton in organisation, fundraising and the popular vote and he prepared to bring peace to his country. One of a good start of Obama is that he won over Clinton in last night’s contests, and the breadth of Obama’s success from the West Coast to the South and the white heartlands of Middle America boost to be the best placed candidate which starts to impress people. Senator Obama has been able to develop innovative approaches to challenge the status quo and get results. Americans are tired of divisive ideological politics, which is why Senator Obama has reached out to Republicans to find areas of common ground. He has tried to break partisan logjams and take on seemingly intractable problems. During his tenure in Washington and in the Illinois State Senate, Barack Obama has accumulated a record of bipartisan success. I focused on how he will going to strengthen the civil rights. He planned to have Strengthen Civil Rights Enforcement on which he will reverse the politicization that has occurred in the Bush Administration’s Department of Justice. He will put an end to the ideological litmus tests used to fill positions within the Civil Rights Division, Combat Employment Discrimination he will work to overturn the Supreme Court’s recent ruling that curtails racial minorities’ and women’s ability to challenge pay discrimination. Obama will also pass the Fair Pay Act to ensure that women receive equal pay for equal work, Expand Hate Crimes Statute strengthening federal hate crimes legislation and reinvigorate enforcement at the Department of Justice’s Criminal Section, End Deceptive Voting Practices signing into law his legislation that establishes harsh penalties for those who have engaged in voter fraud and provides voters who have been misinformed with accurate and full information so they can vote. End Racial Profiling banning racial profiling by federal law enforcement agencies and provide federal incentives to state and local police departments to prohibit the practice, Reduce Crime Recidivism by Providing Ex-Offender Support providing job training, substance abuse and mental health counseling to ex-offenders, so that they are successfully re-integrated into society. Obama will also create a prison-to-work incentive program to improve ex-offender employment and job retention rates, Eliminate Sentencing Disparities he believes the disparity between sentencing crack and powder-based cocaine is wrong and should be completely eliminated, Expand Use of Drug Courts he will give first-time, non-violent offenders a chance to serve their sentence, where appropriate, in the type of drug rehabilitation programs that have proven to work better than a prison term in changing bad behavior. If he will going to be the next president focusing to the economy he will implement a 21st century economic agenda to help ensure that America can compete in a global economy, and ensure the middle class is thriving and growing. He will increase investments in infrastructure, energy independence, education, and research and development; modernize and simplify our tax code so it provides greater opportunity and relief to more Americans; and implement trade policies that benefit American workers and increase the export of American goods. There are 37 million poor Americans. Most poor Americans are in the workforce, yet still cannot afford to make ends meet. And too many poor Americans are single mothers who are raising children. Barack Obama has been a lifelong advocate for the poor as a young college graduate; he rejected the high salaries of corporate America and moved to the South Side of Chicago to work as a community organizer. As an organizer, Obama worked with churches, Chicago residents and local government to set up job training programs for the unemployed and after school programs for kids, which he will going to develop. I will pray for him to win in the incoming election in United States.

as i’ve red about Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, i believe that both of this candidates deserve to win on that presidential election..but

i choose to be on the side of Barack Obama..
that’s all i can say..
thank you!!

for me its better for obama to take the presidency because he doing a good job and im really impress to his campaign and speeches.and also being black only helps him. First, very FEW people, only an insignificant handful, would vote on race. I certainly don’t mind one bit. Then there’s the folks that would vote simply because by voting for a black man they will feel good about themselves, and I think there are more of those people. Vote for the man, not the color of that person.

“ We must build a world free of unnecessary barriers, stereotypes and discrimination…policies must be developed, attitudes must be shaped, and buildings and organizations must be designed to ensure that everyone has a chance to get the education they need and live independently as full citizens in their communities.” – this statement of Obama strucked me and made me decide to choose him over Hilary Clinton as America’s next President.

Judging from what I’ve watched and read over the televisions and Internet, Obama would certainly be my bet on the America’s next Presidential Election this November 2008.

After digging some information, I’ve noticed that Hilary and Obama have actually almost the same perspectives on issues like health care, governing style, and experience. They only differ on how they would implement it.

As I’ve watched some scenes of their so-called “Democratic Debate,” I was stunned and amazed on Barack Obama, on how he answers questions and on how he delivers it (very convincing and impressive).

Well, if I am the campaign strategist of Barack Obama, the first thing that I would advice him is to speak the truth. I’m not actually saying that he’s lying but what I mean is he should be straightforward. He doesn’t need much to do some “gimmicks.” He just need to show the Americans what he got and that he is really sincere on what he is saying. I would also advice him to prove that color doesn’t really matter in ruling a state since being him, as “black” is being considered as big deal to the Americans. Given that he’s good in rhetoric, I would advice him to use it in convincing the people. Lastly, I would advice him to strengthen more his advocacies in terms of economic, social, political, and spiritual or moral aspect as well. Having this things done, he will surely catch the votes and support of his fellow Americans..;p

McCain is out, so, i will only choose between Obama and Clinton.
for me, it’s hard to choose between Clinton and Obama.. because, first, i don’t really know who they are, except for the fact that they are both senators in united states of america, Hillary Clinton is the wife of Pres. Bill Clinton and she will be a first female president , while obama will be a first black America’s president.. (tama ba?) Second, before, i don’t really care whatever issues about them.. (sawa na nga akong makinig sa mga political issues ng pilipinas, dadagdagan pa ng ibang bansa..)

according to what i have read about them, they have both the “k” to be a president and they both have good positions on different issues concerned about their country… but if ever i really need to choose, i’ll choose Obama over clinton.. why? because, he was against war in Iraq from the start… His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent (i hope ganito rin sa pilipinas, so that there will be no over pricing contract, politicians don’t have a chance use the money of the people of the Philippines for their personal luxuries, etc.).

A CAMPAIGN for Presidency
VOTE FOR:

HILLARY
Senator Clinton voted in favor of the war in Iraq, but has since been highly critical of how the war’s execution. She’s called for the U.S. to lead renewed international cooperation on Iraq and a number of other issues. Clinton has had mixed positions on free trade issues. She is a leading supporter of Israel and has been outspoken on the failure to end genocide in Darfur.
VOTE HER!

VOTE HIM!

MCCAIN
Foreign Policy Positions: McCain voted in favor of the Iraq war, and he says the U.S. may need to increase the number of troops there to restore order. He has supported almost all of President Bush’s “War on Terror” bills. McCain generally supports free trade. He has called for strong action (including a NATO-enforced “no fly” zone) to end genocide in Darfur. Global climate change is seen by some as McCain’s “signature issue”.
VOTE HIM!

McCain is out, so it would be Obama or Clinton.
Hillary Clinton if ever wins the election, she will be the first female president and Obama if ever win will be the first black American president that will break the racial discrimination in US.
They both have good positions (of course it was a campaign) about their country but only one will have the seat for presidency.
Internationally speaking, it should be OBAMA, for a simple reason that he promotes peace by emphasizing in his campaign the ending of Iraq war, increasing energy independence, and providing world health care. Its is one of the main goal of different world organization, not just merely economical but security, peace and harmony (o dva panalo ang lolo mo, beauty pageant ito e ^_^).

or Hillary Clinton to win her edge over Obama:
-less racial attacks from her husband Bill Clinton
-build positive image that while Obama is an idealist its good but American needs a President
who can deliver
-emphasize Clinton’s experience, toughness and ability to withstand Republican attacks — remains sound.
in the remaining state primaries
-She has to win both Ohio and Texas comfortably, or she’s out,” said one superdelegate who has endorsed Mrs. Clinton, and who spoke on condition of anonymity to share a candid assessment. “The campaign is starting to come to terms with that.” Campaign advisers, also speaking privately in order to speak plainly, confirmed this view.
to win these states she must try to set a message calibrated towards these voters focus on the concerns of working-class voters, a key demographic in Ohio, as well as of Hispanics, a significant population in Texas.

49. jessica dimaya - February 13, 2008

According to a research, liberals costitute a large part, about 45.6%, of the Democratic party.

Given this fact, i would suggest Obama to give emphasis on issues which are favorable among the liberals such as, diplomacy over military action, stem-cell research, the legalization of same-sex marriage, secular government, stricter gun control, and environmental protection laws as well as the preservation of abortion rights, because this would probably secure him about 45.6% chance of being the Democrat Party nominee or even the new US President.

50. Jezza F. Blastique - February 13, 2008

Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton shares almost the same platforms. Both of them are popular for their democratic programs especially pulling forces from Iraq and economic programs. Based on polls the two are having close fight as to who will be the democratic bet who will fight republican party bet, who is, at this moment, most likely to be McCain.

If I am to advice one of the two, I would choose the New York Senator. I would suggest that she devise campaign programs that will appeal to the youth. It seems that Obama’s concert-like rallies/speeches appeal great to the American youth. But then, she must not give less effort in wooing the old because they are more likely to vote than youngters…it’s an American habit (actually I’m not that sure, I just got the idea from a journalist). Then she must convince the American electorate that coloureds color is not important for her, because Americans are all Americans whatever their color is. And better advice his husband to be good in his words he delivers to the black communities.

And of course, rhetorics. Wether we admit it or not sweet tounge plays an important role in elections. Well, I’m sure that the democrats still weighs themselves as to who will be their final vote. Harmonious words can affect their decisions. Barack has a honeyed one, and Hillary must not let herself left behind.

And of course, show the genuine servant inside her. It reflects.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, both have good points in their platforms.. but since i’m not in favor with the war in Iraq (as Hillary Clinton is in favor to), i’d rather chose Barack Obama.. and i’ve also read on an article that most women chose Obama as their bet..

As i’ve read on the comments posted here in this blog (their comments are very helpful..hehe), if Obama will won as US president, he’ll be the first black president, same as the first woman president as to Hillary Clinton, if ever.. if he won, there will be less racial discrimination over the blacks and the whites..(which was good).. he”ll be over the health of Americans, as the health insurance..etc..

if i were the campaign strategist of Barack Obama, i’ll recommend him to continue his advocacies and to stand for his own decisions based on the truth and for the americans..

54. Joe Ann (4-2) - February 13, 2008

Another event that would mark the American history, another fight for the deserving and another fight for the Americans. In the end, who among them would be “the America’s Idol and ” Next Top President”
The debate on who has the best policy never stops unless there would be no result on the said poll and only American people can decide on that matter. However, people all over the world look up U.S.A as one of the “super powers” dominating the international political and economic arena. To link with, whatever issues this country has we are somehow affected in a way of finding answers to those who are curious and be enlightened behind the facts of the story.
Hillary and McCain have the same policy favoring the war in Iraq-initiated by the Bush’s administration, at which deployment of band of military troops coming from their allies. I remembered the movie ” Fahrenheit 9|11″ that lead to my curiosity and question like this in my mind appeared” ” What if Clinton or McCain will succeed in the said poll? Is this policy be possible to promote peace between US and Iraq? How about the innocent lives of the Iraqis? Is there any event that this people will taste the feeling of being free? I’m not saying that I’m against of these two presidential candidates for they are both good.I’m trying to give emphasis on the rights that will be deprived because of this war. In fact, America in any event haven’t found any of the alleged weapons of mass destructions so why fight of something that devastates not only a developing country but the most precious thing on earth-LIFE!
I can say McCain is OUT of the bet since Clinton can easily handle this policy than him( even more strategic).
In case of Clinton, she is excellent, brilliant and well- experienced woman in international affairs. No doubts many would like and hate her. Her policy favoring the war in Iraq I could say is a wrong move of hers not just because she’s the same with Bush’s plans but because she will deprive and discriminate other races in her future government. How will she be able to renew cooperation in Iraq where America leaves pain and fear to the said country. in Fahrenheit 9|11, the citizens of Iraq were very much scared every time they see American soldiers heading along their way. as the same with those in the war field they felt guilt every time they happen to kill innocent people. The future scenario would be worst than anyone can imagine.
Obama gives a good fight advocating plans for the preservation of new Iraq and anti- discrimination among the blacks. Many would definitely favor on this matter but he lacks what Clinton has- EXPERIENCED. So people would have the hesitation to vote for him.
In my own opinion nobody or non of them has the perfect move to close the big deal of issues America is facing. Why not filling all the LACKS? if happens Clinton or Obama wins one thing should be given prior attention is to stop discrimination and deprivation of human rights with that Iraq will see some light and total renewal will achieve.
Yun lang! hehehe

He was one of those few senators who voted against the war in Iraq. Hillary was one of those in favor. it’s reaLLY hard to choose among the presidential candidates. They are all deserving to be the next President.

If i will be the political strategist of Obama i will advice him to be true with all his speeches, we all know that he is good in Rhetorics, but give justice to his words.Put an action for every words he will be going to deliver.

57. dj (4-2) - February 13, 2008

I am not an American to answer such question… But since the world, including our country, Philippines is at stake on what will be the result of the controversial US Election… I have to say something.

Actually, what I think on the coming US presidential election is a fight between Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama only. And if I were to choose among the two, though not really well informed about them,it would be Mr. Obama.

According to research, Mr. Obama offers a series of sharp recommendations to recast longstanding liberal political grievances as matters of universalist justice. Addressing racial inequity, he argues, still requires a defense of affirmative action and the robust enforcement of antidiscrimination laws. He advises Democrats to acknowledge that free global trade is by now an incontrovertible fact of life—while also pressing for a “new American social compact” to secure stronger legal standing for American unions, a higher minimum wage, and a serious overhaul to expand Medicaid and Medicare coverage. And when talked about the undisputed war-on-Iraq, his action for the remaining troops there is to leave.

In this view, I can say that his platforms are strong to gain the support of the Americans, as well as the international community. Though the platforms of the two rival are likewise the same, except on the Iraq policy, it would be different if a black American man will lead, since Hilary Clinton is a Clinton already…

On the issue on war on Iraq, since it has the greatest global impact, I believe on Obama’s stand. The best solution is to withdraw the troops there that threatens peace and now, becoming a crisis to the American economy, that is greatly affecting the world market stability. Thousands of people had and have been wasting their lives on the Iraq war, people of different races. Let Iraq rebuild. Let there be peace, not war.

I am also impressed that Obama is now standing on the white’s crowd.. He is indeed a courageous man in such manner.Maybe, Obama is not only a man of word, but a man of deed. Because a man of courage is a man of honor. Let us give him a chance… OBAMA for PRESIDENT!!!!

58. Mary Joy Concina - February 13, 2008

iLL go for OBAMA!!

Obama should be the next President of United States ..

“Politics is about who is in the best position to lead out country into the future”.

I believe Barack Obama will prove more than able to lead their country out of the darkness of the Bush years. Obama obviously has the ability to reach the very best part of humans to try to get us to work with the opposition while not letting principles be compromised or diluted.
He’s a special kind of leader, a rare leader, a once in a generation talent. And I know this is his moment. He is a powerful and inspiring speaker, and I believe he has a good future ahead.
Obama is the right person to be the president.

and i vote for him b-coz OBAMA opposed the war from d start and HILLARY CLINTON supported it, that why many people in iraq die in that war…!!!!,,
And when we talk bout xperience , OBAMA is a professor of consti2tional law and i think it will be valuable in d U.S., Whileclinton cites her xperience as 1st lady as well reason to vote 4 her….

oh., i just read the instructions., :) nevermind my earlier comment., :) hehehe

– Barack Obama –
He should focus on major issues in order to win the Democratic race, these include, immigration, the US economy, healthcare, education and foreign policy. Although, in order to advance against clinton, he should continue his strategy on encouraging the youth to vote.

At the end of the day, barack should step out of his image as a black man. He should assume a personality of a future president. Although, many believe that he has already assumed such, he should maintain his charisma, and at the same time, command something from his audience, to impress more people.

about racial discrimination, a black president is not the solution, hillary can also solve the problem about the discrimination. we should always put in our mind that the president who tried to end racial discrimination is a white, John F. Kennedy. anyways i’m still going to vote for Obama because of his plans to end the violence in Iraq. i think Senator Obama needs to prioritize this problem. he dhould also focus on his problems on civil rights. senator Obama should also win the hearts and the minds of american women, he should give more plans and a better platforms regarding the women sector of america

if i would be a strategist for Obama, i would advice him to concentrate on the issues regarding the fall of the american economy. i heard that it is slowly falling so i guess he should concentrate his platforms on that issue. another one would be the issues about discriminating the blacks. i think that should be ended nowadays. for mans sake its year 2008 and until now whotes are discriminating blacks. so i think obama should an end of that discrimination issue.

and that’s all i could say

I’m one of those people who want a president that can clearly state that war in Iraq is wrong….That’s why I like Obama than Clinton…Obama is against in Iraq war. I think he is a peace lover. We’re the same.hehehehe…. And if I will give Obama an advice on how to win the nomination and election,,,here is it……….
Just be yourself. Use the knowledge and skill or anything you have in order to win. Obama should not focus on convincing the people or forcing them to vote/choose him. He should focus on inspiring the people of America and motivate them. In his health care plan, he is promoting affordable, accessible and high quality health care because he firmly believes that health care should a right for everyone, not a privilege for the few. In this particular plan, he should inspire the people that this health care plan is superior to his opponent’s plan. Another is, he should continue delivering substantive policy proposals and simple but meaningful speeches that could catch the attention of the people in America and at the same time inspire them. He should also avoid now the gimmicky political stunts that other candidates are doing. He must do something that is different. A simple ads that portraying a strong character and showing hope is enough. The ads should also aim to convey a sense of promise and showing a sign of a better change in economic, social and political aspects he wants to start in the country. Of course, this change that he is advocating must be better explained and must be represent in a clear way so that every American people should understand it. And last, Obama should project his self as a undefeatable candidate who would fight till the end. One more this is to stay simple and just relax. Face the challenge with full fighting spirit and use humor if needed in order that American people will feel comfortable with him.

Un lang poh!!!kakahiya!hehehehe

kung strategist ako ni obama,i advise him to concentate on two isssues.1st the iraq war,2nd the chance to be the first black president of america.

…first in the history of mankind…..the super power nation would lead and dominated by a super woman….Hillary Clinton….a democrat candidate…is she destined to be the next president of the United States of America….are the campaigns and results of the poll votes by the Americans are enough to conclude that she can win the highest political seat in the world??….a former senator from New York and first lady…basically, American people already know her….from head to foot…but are they sure enough that in this modern times…a simple woman like her can make a difference???

Just to make a comparison…I think being the wife of a former president is really an advantage…people can perceive that she would just continue her husband’ s legacy….and to make more improvements….as what we have in Marikina….

Obama…..also… first in the history of mankind….a Africa-American became a Democrat nominee…Im very sure that all the black americans are really happy about that….he can be the dependable image of the blacks…some one that can fight for their rights…and totally stand for the fight against racial discrimination….someone that could be their voice in the government….that could express their sentiments and endeavour….are these notions enough for him to win???

…Mccain….i dont know if there’s something interesting about him…a typical candidate nominated by the Republicans….focuses on reforming the government through tax reforms…how would this conservative leader convince the Americans to vote for him???

..Too much from the introduction and their backgrounds….lets proceed to the main core….their stand regarding to certain foreign policies…War on Iraq….among the candidates…only Obama opposed the War on Iraq….He rather believe that having peace talks and diplomatic conferences are still possible…given his advocacy of establishing a regional conference between Syria and Iran as part of ultimate Iraq solution….the other two supported the said war on Iraq…
…..I believe…the Americans being liberated…they would definitely approve the two…but watching the movie “Farenheit 9/11″…there’s no reason to be an advocate of war..but for those who still believe that only God has the right to create vengeance and revenge..and not the mankind…they would definitely support Obama…I think he feels what the citizens of Iraqis feels …as part of the marginalized and discriminated sector of the society…for Obama to win the majority regarding this issue…even that American people have been stereotype..probably having the best arguments…he can convinced the Americans to adhere for what his fighting for…

…..For the two other candidates…Mccain wants to increase the number of troops to restore order..but how he defines international order???…a continuing chaos and anarchic society….How about Hillary??…to renew international cooperation with Iraq..??but how would it be possible…if Iraq is totally wrecked and destroyed..and doesn’t believe to the concept of peace and mutual cooperation anymore???

…not to focus so much on war on Iraq….certain issues such as free trade and environmental awareness through the campaign against global climate change…..you can still figure out that the best platform is from Obama….he spoken out on the importance of energy independence and the need for US leadership….

……..as of now….its hard to determine who among them deserves the US presidency…even that im not an american….but i hope american people can make the best and right decision…not only for the American society…..but for the whole world…the future is in their hands!!

I’m a feminist and obvious I would choose Hillary Clinton. However, I really admire Obama for his excellent public speaking ability and platforms.

Hillary has her platforms and whatever are those could be found in the net.

Let’s just focus being her political strategist. This refers to Hillary.

First tips about persuading people. Show them all the benefits of your idea. (If possible, tell them how it will benefit them. That always gets their attention. Use offerings and possible benefit that they could get and talk to them individually but not being obvious that you have the intention.)

Prepare for any contradictions and be ready for any that you may not have thought of. (Of course if you think they are very firm about their contradiction about a certain decision that you made, change it in favor of them…remember you are courting them.)

If you realize that you may have been wrong in one aspect then admit it. It will make you seem more trustworthy.

Ask them just to consider it and think about your idea, given time to think they may realize their mistakes. (If you still firm about the idea show them the cost benefit analysis)

REMEMBER: IT’S BEST TALKING WITH THEM INDIVIDUALLY.

Another one for Hillary, if there are some democrats who are really against you then do the networking find those persons that they really trust and admire, it might be their closest friends, mentors, anyone closest to each of them and be closer to those then the effect would follow…those people would endorse you to your real target.

Make them a celebrity. If you could do something that make them popular and admirable even more then do it. This is common sensical, people would always in favor to those who would give them the advantage.

If many people find the platform of Obama tobe more effective and its too late to put another one to compete for it, persuade, court, convince the media and show a benefit analysis to it that hers is better.

These are more of a psychological actions, machineries are not the issues here because all of them have…this is a matter of playing with minds and emotions.

in addition She Can Crush The GOP Like The Toxic Bugs

Yes, Hilary has a high negative rating, but she has a history of being able to reverse that. The key is the swing voters, and the honest truth is that, although Obama is a great speaker, his record is very light compared with McCain, and it will be easy for the Repubs to raise a doubt about his foreign policy credentials. They will bring out his father being a muslim and his church, and his Rezco connection and his brother in Kenya.

also, the vast majority of Hispanics will not vote for Obama, and because most white older Democrats will not vote for him,If for many it is for racial reasons, they surely won’t admit this in the exit polls. But whatever the reasons, Obama will not be able to get enough Hispanics and older Democrats to vote for him.

80. sheilla ramos - February 13, 2008

I will choose barack obama because of his platforms . He prioritizes equality and economic efficiency; he thinks not for himself but for what is good for the greatest number of people.

81. Merry Cris Esguerra - February 13, 2008

I just heard that there are only two candidates for presidency.. Obama and Clinton because McCain just refuse from running.
Anyways, if I will given a chance to vote.. I will go for BARACK OBAMA. It’s not really a matter of being black or white, it’s just about the platforms and what he/she can do for the development of the country. I believe that Obama is more democratic and for Americans to have peace, the president should think that war can never be a solution to every problem and they must stop the war in Iraq, and that is what Obama wants to happen. Overall, I like his way of thinking. We should stop, specially Americans, should stop racial discrimination.
And I disagree with the belief that Americans are afraid of having a female president because woman are weak… I think they’d just don’t trust that candidate so they don’t vote for her, whoever she is.

82. magno sinohin - February 13, 2008

On to the fray! As the political strategist of Senator Brack Obama, I would suggest to strike down the potential state battle ground which shall serve crucial for the success of Obama’s campaign.

As what I’ve scanned so far, according to the multiple potential state battlegrounds the concentration on the following platforms have proven essential in state campaign…. An end to International Warfare (featuring the favorite “Iraq”), enhancement on the sluggish economy of America, agricultural policies, heath care and social security, immigration reform, labor union support and minimum wage raise.

Adding to this proposal, breaking through social issues with civil liberties and liberal ideology would come useful in some states.

Further more, his renowned Bipartisanship, Judgment, Vision and great leadership would prove a great benefactor on his campaign. Even with the floating issue of racism and not enough experience (but he has just as much political experience if not more then all of the top-tier candidates of both sides), he posses the ability to overcome this obstacle.

i would go for Obama, because i think he can do more for his country… He should focus his attention if he would won in the 2008 Presidency election in the United States,in Iraq War because i think a country like America would effectively ponder if theres a peace in their country as well as for the people.Peace and Order is the very main reason why would a country successes in all aspect, for example in their economy. Secondly by breaking up the monopolies, a time for a change because the wealth that supposed to have by every American citizens instead its only concentrated in the hand of a few robbers barons, railroad tycoons and to the oil magnates. Because i think America needs a kind of leadership more than ever, and i also presume that Obama is the right President for the United States. Addresses the issues that matter most to his people is such a good thing that he can do.

85. cariss_4-2 - February 13, 2008

The US Elections are coming and the things specially campaigns are getting hot. So far, it’s a democrats’ game as what the papers have said. The First woman president or the First Black American President. Which would win?

Barack Obama has impressed a lot of people with his rich rhetorics and a band of prominent personalities that in my opinion is not bad, after all it’s a campaign. Any support can help change the minds of the people specially if the personalities include Hollywood stars like Oprah and Stevie Wonders. But let’s not undermine the policies that Mr. Obama is presenting the American citizens. He has a strong opposition on “War on Iraq” policy of President George Bush and promotes the civil rights of the Black Americans. Also, his vision of a global healthcare for everyone is what everybody is dreaming off. Analysts said that his experience on American politics are inferior than Mrs. Clinton.

On the other side of the battlefield, Hillary Clinton, former First lady of the United States and a Senator. being a woman has its quirks and advantages. She once voted for the War on Iraq but belatedly admitted mistake on judgement. Her policies as for the good of the American and the citizens of the worls as well. We can say that her policy are almost the same as that of any running president, change for the better type of thing. Like economic policies and the sorts. What she has is experience and a brilliant mind. Not that Obama has a dull m9ind or anything, it’s just said that experience makes man wiser in his/her decisions.

If I happen to be an American Citizen voting for the elections, Iwould definitely have to look a better view on these candidates. mere good policies, experience and charisma won’t be the only things that voters must consider but also what is the best for the entirety of the people.

Political Strategist…

For Hillary Clinton…

There are things that we always need to promisefro someone to bet their side on us…

and we need to convince them to believe on it…

but promises are made to be done…

many of your fellow candidateplans what to promise, and to be able for you to supass this promises they’ve made is to examine, observe and know the people…

Examine whats the problem,
observe its nature,
know who are those involve…

and from it derive solutions that will effectively suit with it all…

to gain sides in all aspects creat promises on each sector to balance everything…

promises are effective tool in winning this type of game…
other factor are just second to the line how people choose who will thwy vote…

so for you to gain it with much assurance, make promises…

Based on what I have read, observe, and understand, ther is only one position that Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain wanted to be elected to. Becoming a president of United States there is so much to consider for.

But first, I will tel you what are the pointers each of the candidates has before I choose for my personal choice and why?

Hillary Clinton has been to appear so much softer in her personality. The type of her campaign is more approachable to the people. But for some reason, she is an alter image of Pres. Clinton. Some says during his administration the America is Broke. Therfore, she might be the same as his husband was.
Because behind the shadows there she was and now, she’s trying to get into the light but her action are not much as her American Country needs.
Maybe if she was elected that is because of her popularity in media…

Criticism of Obama to Hillary.
” You know the former President who think that all of us have a lot of regards for, has taken his advocacy on behalf of his wife to a level that I think is pretty troubling…”
” he continues to make statesments that are not supported by the facts…”

Her motto is… ” you gotta do what you gotta do…” same as his husband.

Barack Obama, ( I don’t have so much to say about him.)
He is a fair fighter. He can be a good president because he can see the future before it happens based on his calculation and presumption. Why I say so? Because, he already against and opposed the war in Iraq, while Hillary is favor of it.

Obam and Hillary are both powerful voices for change. But in some ways they are both the same in ideas and policies that they will implemented…
Like in Health Insurance…
Hillary says, “Universal Health Care Incsurance”.

While, Obama says, ” Helath Insurance that is limited to kids, the reason many people aren’t insured is because they can’t afford it.”

John McCain, he was a commander-in-chief in U.S. Military Force. He has a great political strenth, he belives in duty, honor and country more than he does in any specific ideas. More on personal than ideological. He has a record of pro-life, he was against in abortion policy. He intends to repair the brench with all parts of the Republican Coalition.

Criticism about him… ” he need to make vigorous , articulate case for why the tax cuts are essentials to growth than he has so far.”
And also he will use all the resources that he have for the election. Then, if he lost, he was lost in vain. He was staking a lot of fortune for a single opportunity…

To end this , my vote is for Obama, because he was so wise that anyone could know him. He was a man of his words when he stand for the against the war in Iraq. And lastly, even I don’t know him much but his action speaks louder than words.

90. laryssa - February 13, 2008

since i don’t know ’bout them,, hula na lang!!

91. Loven Carl Wasan - February 13, 2008

well both Obama and Clinton have good platforms.. and whoever wins between the two… it will be a first for America… but between the two..clinton = experience while obama = changes… so i will go for Obama… because i believe in what he says that America needs a change.. oras na para sa pagbabago ng pagpapatakbo ng politika sa amerika.. and i know he can and will do that… i got nothing more to say… but i want Obama to win..

FOREIGN POLICY POSITIONS

Hillary Clinton :
Better Cooperation with other nations and Bilatera talks with enemy nations Diplomay and negotiation with enemy nations as opposed to the present policy of Washington of avoiding talks to those countries they think are evil .

She favored the war on Iraq and call for he progressive redeployment of US troops in the middle East , and wants to establish a regional conference that will disscus options for iraq, and division of oil income among Iraqis . Obama will offerm incentves to Iran like membership i WTO , Economic Investments and Diplomatic relations only if Iran agrees to abandon its Nuclear program and its support to terrorist .

John Mcclain :
He widely supported US war on Iraq and wants to increase the number of troops in that country.
-he is also a supporter of Bush in the war on terror . and also supports free and open trade in the world market .

Barack Obama :
He wants to end the war on Iraq and a known critique fo that war . has been consistant and vocal opponent of the war . In 2005 he called for the withdrawal of US troops in Iraq , in 207 he introduced legislation i the Senate to gradaully remove combat troops in Iraq but wants to keep a small force to protect their Embassies and Diplomats . He likes to settle disputes in Iraq by means of establishing talks to representaties coming from all levels fo iraqis addresin questions like federalism and oil revenue sharing . Regarding Iran he will give incentives to Iran like membership to WTO and Economic Investments only if Iran will abandon its Nuclear program and withdraw support to terrorists.

I would vote for Obama , not for Clinton neither for mccain simply because Obama’s foreign policy with regard to Iraqi war is more acceptable . War will is fact of life but i believe that we should not go into war unless we exhausted all of the methods in fixing problems. It also affect the lives of innocent people. Innocents lives were taken without enough justification .
When it terms of Diplomatic negotiations and I like the foreign policy of obama and clinton with regard to the implementing direct confrontation and negotiations to those enemy countries i solving hostilities .

as i can see, barack obama has a greater possibility to win the democratic nomination..he has the potential to be a leader…he is a just a silent leader but can fight bravely in a war…i think that obama should focus on the economic problem of US..based on the latest news, it is said that the economy of US is slowly falling…he is a leader that think most of his constituents..having a black nominee is good..to represent the black american, i think..obama should not be confident on his lead to Hillary Clinton..Clinton can adjust easily on what is happening on his campaign to be a nominee..as i see the advocacy of obama, he can be helpful to US if he would do all his good advocacy..both of them are good, but i think there is a difference between them, the love for their country..just continue the good and clean fight for the both nominee.gudluck..

honestly, in this point of time, i really can’t say who’s my bet for the position curenly occupying by Bush, the president of United States. i’m having a hard tmie understanding what change they are trying to relate to the Americans.

however, if i am to advice one of the candidates for the november elections in US, i would choose the lady, Hillary Clinton not because we’re of the same gender but because she appeals to me more than the other, Barack Obama.

my advice to her is that, she should show her great sincerity or to be sincere in every word she says as always a woman should to win the trust of her countrymen. unlike Obama, she may speak using simple but comprehensive words because if sincerity goes with this simplicity, she’ll gain the trust of her people.

also, along with this sincerity, there should be the wisdom and conviction. this is to impart to her people that as a woman, she is not just apealing to their people but she’s alo a strong and intelligent enough to withstand and endure upcoming challenges she’ll face in case she become the US president.

If I were the strategies for Obama, I would advice him to speak the truth. Put action in every words that he going to say. He should devote his presidency to busting trusts, with prudence and wisdom and some measure of humility. He should involve programs focused to deal with specific problem. He should have views on a wide range of economic issues. And the most important is addressing the issues that matter most to the people.

People need leadership as a defender of fairness and opportunity for every citizen. I think Obama is the best choice to be the next president. He has the faith for his country, confidence and determination to lead the people for a better future.

Suggested Strategy For Barack Obama in the Upcoming 2008 Election
By: Immaculada C. Daguman

I would advice Barack Hussein Obama to use his competence in International Relation, the best asset that he has. United States of America would be more powerful and influential on international politics with Barack Obama because of his dexterity in international affairs. He could bring good influences on international politics. He should use his being a true peacemaker- his legislations to control conventional weapons, and his ability in international affairs would make him receive less criticism when it comes to local and international peace concepts. His promise to end the war in Iraq is a good mechanism to victory. Perhaps, he could make Iraq more peaceful and orderly with his alternative programs for the existing war there. This asset of him is also a great factor to deal with matters in their country due to USA’s diverse culture.

Although a black, it should not be a hindrance for him to serve the United States of America with full passion and devotion. If he did become a president of Harvard Law school why not for a higher organization. He showed his passion in work against racial discrimination and so he could also push actions against other kind of discrimination in America. He should use this tactic to have people’s heart because discrimination- gender, race, social status, is still a problem not only in America but around the world.

Obama should also use his irresistible legislations in public accountability and electoral fraud to show the people that he has the highest value for integrity and honesty. Thus, he could bring the most powerful country more integrity and dignity. His overwhelming recognitions and experience in politics made him truly qualifying to be the next president of United States of America. Long live Uncle Sam!!!!!!!

99. Cletha - February 14, 2008

Comparing the Foreign policy of Hillary Clinton, Obama and McCaain, each of them has its own views on how America will stand in the different issues right now and what will be the best foreign policy not only for US but for all nations as a whole.

But As far as I’m concerned, The foreign policy raised by Hillary Clinton is better than the two candidates.According to Clinton “We must by word and deed renew internationalism for a new country” which is obviously must be done. Us coudnt achieve the power that they have right now without the help of other countries. They did not face the WORLD WAR II and Cold war alone. And Us woud’nt face the global terrorism threat of other profound challenges alone either.

Clinton also defended the idea of Bilateral talks with Nations that Washington has been avoiding. It is true that Direct negotiations are not a sign of weakness; they are a sign of leadership cause if yo’re really a good leader you should consider both sides before you decide in one problem. What will be the consequences of your action, who will be benifited, if it is for the good of all or for some. You should be epenened in all also.whether it is for the American or for the other raise also. That’s why Bush Administration” simplistic division of the world into good or evil side, as some have called that idealistic but for Clinton it is dangerously unrealistic.

Instead on wart on Iraq, the best policy instead would progressively redeploy Us troops in the regiuon, call for a regional conference to help discuss options and advocate for the creation of an organization aiming at guarateeing a division of oil income among the Iraqis. Also I think, the life of many soldiers , civillians and innocent people in Iraq were enougjh to stop it.

According to the foreign policy of Clinton ” In an increasingly Interdependent World” It is our interest to stand for human rights, to promote religious freedom, democracy, human rights, women’s rights, social justice and economic empowerment.” Anf I think these will give a big help to all nations. Because whether we like it or not we and other countries around the globe woud’nt survive w/o “America”.

In my opinion it is the best time for US to have better cooperation w/ other nations by ceasing the war., but still in reality, US ca’nt force other nations, and people to accepty thoise values. Andas one of the powerful nation, US should lead by EXAMPLE.
This is not a question of racial discrimination like what Obama says, nor not a question of identity. I tjink this is a matter of experience and concern for the welfare of an individual.
But also, in one point of view, I support Obama on his “energy independence and dealing with global climate change.

For now, it is not easy to conclude who has the best foreign policy. The best thing to do is just WAIT and SEE……

100. savanna dela rosa - February 14, 2008

..I’ll go for Hillary Clinton..of course i’m a woman eh..Clinton had been mentioned as a potential candidate for United States President since at least October 2002.She has been ranked among the world’s most powerful people by Forbes magazine[245] and Time magazine’s Time 100.On January 20, 2007, Clinton announced on her Web site the formation of a presidential exploratory committee, with the intention to become a candidate for president in the United States presidential election of 2008. In her announcement, she stated, “I’m in. And I’m in to win.”No woman has ever been nominated by a major party for President of the United States, and Clinton is the first woman seen to have a good chance of winning a nomination.

Clinton led the field of candidates competing for the Democratic nomination in opinion polls for the election throughout the first half of 2007. Most polls placed Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina as Clinton’s closest competitors in the early caucus and primary election states.Clinton set records for early fundraising, which Obama then topped in the following monthsbefore Clinton later regained the money lead;but Clinton generally maintained her lead in the polls.

Obama vs. Hillary

Of course I would go for OBAMA! GO OBAMA!

I’ve always been an admirer of the abilities of the blacks, and i believe, that it’s now time to consider them in presidency after all they are also part of America.

If I were the strategist of Obama, I would tell him that it’s now your time to shine. I think the fight against the discrimination of the blacks has become his ace, for most people would likely put their side on the ones who was discriminated but fought back for their right , and most people would go for the fair person. I would also tell him, that having Hillary Clinton as your rival is a big threat for we all know that we have feminists group here, so the scenario would most likely be that the feminist group would go for her, so try to persuade them and have your appeals to them. I know that I couldn’t advise him technically on the business because I know he knew it so well, I would just stay at his side and guide him to be aware on his actions and tell him whether he is unconsciously doing wrong.

America needs a president who can revitalize the country’s purpose and standing in the world and defeat terrorist adversaries who threaten liberty at home and abroad. There is an enormous amount to do. The next U.S. president must be ready to show America and the world that this country’s best days are yet to come and be ready to establish an enduring peace based on freedom.

OBAMA
Before the war in Iraq began, Senator Obama had the courage to stand up to the politics and propaganda and speak out against a war he knew to be ill-conceived.

Over the last four years, Senator Obama’s position has been clear and consistent: the decision to go to war was a mistake. And we should be as careful pulling our troops out as we were careless going in.

In January, Senator Obama introduced the Iraq War De-escalation Act of 2007. It moves to reverse the President’s dangerous escalation and set a new policy for the United States in Iraq that will bring a responsible end to the war and make the prospect of a long-term peace possible

i prefer to choose barack obama.. kasi siguro mas maganda narin yung magkaron ng black president ang America.. para mabawasbawasan naman yung racial discrimination sa lugar nila.. Syempre hindi lang naman yun sa pagiging black american ni obama.. dahil rin sa plataporma niya.. sana nga lang magawa nya lahat.. at hindi puro salita lang.. isa sa mga plataporma niya na nagustuhan ko ay yung “to bring troops out of Iraq as soon as possible if he will be elected”..
ang maipapayo ko naman sa kanya.. hmm.. kung gusto nyang ma-elect siya.. kelangan he do more for his countrymen.. at syempre.. pray to God..

If ever OBAMA win the election, he will be the first black american to be the president of the united states. and if ever that happens, the racial discrimination will be lessen because for sure he will emphasize to the entire american about the equal treatment to the black one.

CLINTON

New York Senator Hillary Clinton called for a broad reform of US foreign policy that would include better cooperation with other nations and bilateral talks with enemy nations.

Criticizing President George W. Bush’s foreign policy from Iraq to Afghanistan and North Korea to Iran, the she called for a more internationalist approach to foreign policy in a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations. she stressed out the word and deed renew internationalism for a new century.

Clinton also defended the idea of bilateral talks with nations that Washington has been avoiding, such as Iran and Cuba.

America must value diplomacy as well as a strong military, and it should not hesitate to engage in the world’s most difficult conflicts on a diplomatic front. Direct negotiations are not a sign of weakness; they’re a sign of leadership
Clinton blasted what she said was the Bush administration’s simplistic division of the world into good and evil. Concerning Iraq, Clinton blasted the administration’s policy, and said the best policy instead would progressively redeploy US troops in the region, call for a regional conference to help discuss options and advocate for the creation of an organization aiming at guaranteeing a division of oil income among all Iraqis.

In an increasingly interdependent world it is in their interest to stand for human rights, to promote religious freedom, democracy, women’s rights, social justice and economic empowerment.

If Clinton will win to the election, she’ll be the first woman president to serve america.

MC CAIN

John McCain is willing to address the fundamental problem: the rapidly rising cost of U.S. health care. Bringing costs under control is the only way to stop the erosion of affordable health insurance, save Medicare and Medicaid, protect private health benefits for retirees, and allow our companies to effectively compete around the world.

John McCain believes that a government “of the people, by the people, and for the people” must remain ever faithful to that noble charge. America needs leadership devoted to the public interest, not the special interest, and a government that fulfills its duties with unfailing integrity, accountability, and common sense. Those who serve in positions of public trust have a patriotic duty to serve the national interest with integrity and accountability, to conduct manner worthy of the people they are privileged to serve, and to devote theirselves to America’s agenda, not that of narrow special interests.

John McCain believes that he must not fail in Iraq. Succeeding in the cause of helping the Iraqi people build a stable, secure, representative state is essential to achieving an enduring peace in a region of the world central to American prosperity and national security. Failure in Iraq will endanger America for generations to come. America has a vital interest in a secure, democratic Iraq, at peace with its neighbors, to help stabilize a dangerous and critical region.

He also has a good intention but i dont agree on him in favoring war on terror…so if i am going to ask if who is the best candidate for the US Presidential election, it would be John Mc Cain on my third choice,Hillary Clinton would be my second option, and Barack Obama would be my first choice…GOODLUCK

Warning: This may contain wrong grammar and spelling English EXPERT guidance is advised.

The Presidential nominee race is very important in international politics and in fighting for the nomination its a diffucult road for both Democrats contender, Obama and Clinton……..

this is greatly a challenge for their campaign strategist and managers since both nominees are having the same platform and ideas since they are in the same party …………..

Just like in the NBA PLAYOFFS series in which the best in the western and eastern conference meet to claim the NBA finals championship…..

I go for Obama and advice him to ephasize the most important issues in each state to win they support especially in large states and go for a international issue for the national advertisement and campagin….

Obama should not focus on just campaigning in the super delagates , their influence in the lower delegates may be that forceful but I will advice him to attack from lower ranks and persuade more in general because in the end other clinton comitted delegates may shift their votes to him when they feel that a lower force support obama…

It is also advisable to stay up in defense and reduce attacks to opponent nominees to receive more support in large states and even high profile delegates….

Exploit his color …………………………

well, both Hillary Clinton and barrack Obama have a good point in their platforms, but if i have a chance to choice who will i vote for U.S presidency, i go to barack obama.. and if ever he wins in presidency he will be the first black president of the united states, I admire him by saying that “I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of Al Qaeda. I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars” obama wants to stop war in iraq. and also he has a great economic platform, i do believe that in his idea he will be a great leader of united state and also as far as i know U.S is now facing an economic crisis, his advocacy to make the economic better for united states are really helpul, if he became a president of united state.

if i were a strategist of obama, i would advice to him that he must also focus to the problems of women, if he want to get their vote for him, because as we see her rival for presidency hillary clinton is more in feminist side, she might got the sympathy of women if ever he advocate a platform for women, and also i will tell him that he just need to be true to his self, express want he really want for U.S under his legislation, and how much U.S really need a leader like him. it is about time to prove the ability of black to lead…

There are three tough contenders in the race to the highest elected position in the government of the United States of America. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCAin.

I accordance with the reports of different firms, most likely democrats will win the race. It was due to the fact that Americans would not want another Bush to rule their world. So, we can narrow down our options to the two senators from the democrat party. Sen Obama and Sen. Clinton. These two will both break the tradition in US in terms on gender and race just in case they would win the battle.

Basically, people judged the goodness of their foreign policy in their position in the war in Iraq. Despite the fact that the two belongs to the same party. They had an opposite stand during the decision making in launching the war against Iraq. Sen. Clinton voted for the war while Sen. Obama, voted otherwise. Granting that Sen. Clinton admitted that it was a mistake, it doesn’t change the fact that she contributed in that war by making that one single vote in favor of it.It was done already. As a president 0ne should MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS. We don’t just decide and then state our sorry afterwards specially if it caused the lost of lives.

In that cause I believe that Sen. Obama deserves my approval that he has the best foreign policy advocacy. Although Clinton and Obama almost has the same plans. Considering the fact that he voted against that war from the start even if it means standing against the administration makes me believe that he is true with what he says in his objectives in the international arena. That is to promote diplomacy and peace.

War on Iraq was just a small portion of his foreign policy objectives. He wants to be really different from Bush. I can perceive that he believes that “war is not the answer” . HE doesn’t have fear in pursuing peaceful negotiations specially to countries that was hurt by Bush administration. For Obama, it is two way process. He doesn’t want other countries to just bomb US therefore he will not bomb other countries also.

Breaking Bush’ traditions of waging war is what I believe “the best interest in humanity” not in US only. And I believe the Senator Barack Obama is the man who could stand and be true to it so he will be sorry afterwards.

peace out!

i think that the best candidate for presidency in the USA is Clinton.

i didn’t chose her because i am a feminist but because of her value for human rights most espcially to the rights of all women in the world.

i believe that eventhough we view both genders equal we cannot erase the fact that there are still some places that treat women as third grade citizens. i think that if Clinton will win the election, women integrity and pride will be uplifted because leading a superpower nation is not an easy job to deal with and because of that more people will respect women and that i think is a huge difference.

All three of the US presidential candidates, Clinton, Mc Cain and Obama , laid a clear picture of a humane policy. All crying out policies that are all-for-the-glory-and-goodness-of-all, but among the three of them one has stricken me and so far the best for me.

Mc Cain is known as a conservative, he has a strong conservative voting record on pro-life and free trade issues, favors private social security accounts, and opposes socialized health care. McCain also supports school vouchers, capital punishment, mandatory sentencing, and welfare reform, which is a very good thing, but the fact that he is more likely a Traditional Politician threatens all this. He strictly believes in war as a means to solve disputes and such.

Hilary Clinton for me is a copy cat of her husband, what may be Clinton’s views on any matter will also be hers, it will only look like a de ja vu…

Among the three US presidential Candidates, I can only go for Obama. Obama is young, has an unconventional mind and steadfast views judging his Political images, political positions and Foreign Policies. He can easily adjust his views considering the perspective of the people, or for the benefit of man kind. I believe that US has to withdraw military intervention in Iraq, and so far, Obama is the only one supporting my views with clear reasons to support the stand. Quoting Obama : “I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaeda. I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars.”

Obama is also not ignoring the role of religion in the fulfillment of peace within America and other countries as well. Shortly before announcing his presidential campaign, Obama told the health care advocacy group Families USA: “I am absolutely determined that by the end of the first term of the next president, we should have universal health care in this country.”

And since Obama is not pure American, I can be assured that he won’t be spoiling their superiority complex. Obama called for an outward looking post-Iraq War foreign policy and the renewal of American military, diplomatic, and moral leadership in the world. Saying “we can neither retreat from the world nor try to bully it into submission,” he called on Americans to “lead the world, by deed and by example.”

118. mhe_anne - February 14, 2008

It’s been left and right debate, who will be the next U.S President- Democrat or Republican? Clinton or Obama or McCain? Well…it’s a role of the dice. Let’s split it off to the classification of they called ‘ foreign policy realism,’ which categorically takes basic questions on what is the best interest of the US and what is likeliest to contribute to the peace and stability of the world.
U.S states voters’ show outweighs more on local issues such as national security, economy and globalization than of surge on Iraq and immigration. Both democratic candidates Sen. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were prefer fair trade, which mandate to create more domestic jobs through green-energy promotion. However, McCain could be identifying himself as fiscal conservative.
Senator Hillary Clinton reiterated a broad change on US foreign policy which would confine within the context of renewed internationalism-cooperation among the federal states at the same time grow support among the allied nations and bilateral talks with the axis powers. Clinton criticized Pres. George W. Bush’s foreign policy from Afghanistan to Iraq and North Korea to Iran. She blasted that such face-off to negotiate with these states is not an identified to be an idealist, but dangerously unrealistic.
Concerning with Iraq, like most of the Americans. Clinton now affirmed to withdraw U.S troops from Iraq, which however criticized her foreign policy due to her vote on October 2002-the willingness to support the war. Her cynical view somehow made a cuts and curves on the Americans perception. Though, this issue is being brought up. She hasn’t apologized for voting as a she did; she just regrets and blamed the decision of Bush for using her vote unwittingly.
I think it’s not bad enough to renew ones decision towards something, rather than sticking to policies with no roots and grounds, much cause will be the result. It’s better to withhold in much earliest time before major casualties will be damaged. Anyway, its case to case basis…
The direct negotiations among the enemy states shouldn’t be a sign of weakness, rather a sign of leadership. On this view point, Clinton and Obama are gaining the same perception. Though for Clinton, she won’t do it on her first year. Obama is quite exited to meet the leaders such as Iran, Syria, Venezuela and Cuba. And clarify some misconception and misinterpretation like of ‘not talking to such countries (enemy) is punishment to them, cause for him that view is so ridiculous and disgrace.
Obama, whose newcomer democrat presidential candidate, criticized Clinton’s 2002 vote as poor judgment, and said that, next president has to show the kind of judgment that will ensure that military power is using wisely. He’s more concerned of national interest, especially in terms of terrorism attacks. He made a way of building up his expertise on Russia and other parts of the dangerous world. He saw nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs within the border of former Soviet Union states threat to the security of U.S. He made serious efforts to work on national security and foreign policy.
The three most presidential aspirants give each own foreign policy towards Iraq and somehow to its human kind.
Clinton calls for a regional conference to help discuss options and advocate for the creation of an organization aiming at guaranteeing division of oil income among all Iraqis. On the other hand, Obama made a measure which somehow presents that Iraqi should make choices out of their own judgment. He just let the Iraqi people decide in their own with the help of U.S as allied. The first one is, ensure that insurgency shouldn’t be overtaking Iraq and the other one is coherent national government. Consequently, if Obama and Clinton both favor to withdraw the troops in Iraq, Republican Sen. John McCain asserted a robust troop presence as long as it is needed.
It has been a decade since the war has started but then no one knows when it will end, though much destruction occurs not only in Iraq but also in U.S .
For that, I much willing to support OBAMA!

119. aBbY 4-2 - February 14, 2008

…clinton is in favor of invading Iraq..and i guess she will continue the war on Iraq since she is infavor of it…
…obama on the contrary..is not in favor of invading Iraq..he is in to the fight of proliferation of nuclear weapons..and is really into the energy independence issue…of US…
…mcCain like clinton is also in favor of invading Iraq..he wants to bring more troops in Iraq then…

…for me,,i wud go to Obama..since for me,,he is more into the welfare of the people..not into the war on Iraq..

..aun..xenxa na sir,,wala ako maxadong masabi..bangag pa ako sa mga pangyayari..xenxa na po…

Who has the best foreign policy? Who will contribute best to the global society? Questions that seeks answer from the stand of the US presidential candidates Clinton, Obama and McCain.

Well the fact that the two candidates stand for withdrawal of the troops from Iran and one stands for national security still, their different perspective the War Issue shows who really cares for other people, not just of the Americans but other living entities, who are innocent but still continues to experience the impediments of war.

Clinton had supported the Iran troops but later withdrew the support and now is reiterating that she believes in peacekeeping and now tells that she is against the actions and demand for the withdrawal. Obama had been standing for the withdrwal eversince and sees that the actions would anger the middle east. And McCain still believes on the troops for Iran as long as it is needed there, with this aspect of foreign policy we can discern whose policies will stand for global welfare and realization that the US is still a country that most countries depend upon.

I could see that Barack Obama is the right person to practice diplomacy of United States. In this time that the nation is being scrutinized by other nations because of its actions to initiate war against Iraq, a leader who could effectively talk to others is needed. The leader who would not just be firm on its stand but also be flexible on his ideas depending on the needed situation. As what Obama had shown, his effectiveness in words could also be a formula to good diplomacy with other nations, because i myself even if i’m not an american finds his perspectives idealistic that commands respect. His policy on less oil dependence is a factor that would show that his aim is for also global welfare and not for the Americans alone.

Whoever would win on the election should focus on the good of inoocent people who are not guilty of the alleged terrorism. It should be the welfare of the others and the welfare of Americans. Naturally, as an American president you would still choose your nations benefits. But the over rating of the issue and over seeing that killing the whole nation is killing the problem is a big NO from your people especially to the international scene. It would be best to control the damage that trying to prevent it to the extent that everyone is affected.

121. ivy - February 14, 2008

Who has the best foreign policy and think of the other nations as well??

Clinton, McCain and Obama of America …

Clinton… She said America needs a leader who will restore America’s reputation in the world, and she is prepared to lead America back in the right direction. America will lead the world through alliances and build foreign policies on a strong foundation of bipartisan consensus. And will start a tough and smart decisions in combatting terrorism.
(US with its controversial attacked in Iraq lead to giving US a very bad image, a country who blame an innocent country and punishing the people with no bases at all. Clinton’s foreign policy is in gaining back the trust of other nations and she said she will lead decent respect to the opinions of mankind but strictly still fighting the terrorism)

Obama…Obama believes that America must lead the world, by deed and example, and that America cannot meet the threats of the century alone and that the world cannot meet them without America. ( still leading and campaigning also against terrorism, and fighting to strengthen America’s position in the world)

McCain….Believes that aid should be granted to countries when extraordinary circumstances cause disaster and threaten civilian lives, and/or when it is in the security interests of the United States…)

the three presidential candidates as i see it, still gives an impression that america must lead the world, Obama and Clinton clamor for freeing Iraq and reduce military force on Iraq while McCain still believes that additional force must be given until Iraq can lead their country well.

it’s still hard for me to decide who has the best foreign policy not just for America,, but its only Clinton or Obama for me…. One thing, who do we think can lead US in the right path, considering the rest of the states??

-i go for barack obama ->he is the first serious African-American candidate who has explicitly avoided race-specific appeal.
-the promise to end the partisan feuds of the last 15 years which I think is healthy both for the Democrats and the country
-he must: continue his optimistic campaign rhetoric; think of an effective way to tax the rich (to be used in healthcare programs); improve his weakness in policy liberalism; gain more knowledge in the discussion of Iraq, Iran and the overall war on terror (whenevr there’s an “extreme debate”)
-For a change.ü

Obama to Finally win over Hillary

Honestly I don’t have enough knowledge about these two candidates, Obama and Clinton; however their names were circling through our TV screens, radios and also in the newspapers and internet. Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were good. These two senators in the democrat party show that they both deserve to be the president of the United States. Whoever wins the position will make history. Both lend something new. If Clinton wins, she will be the first female president of America, on the other hand if Obama will have the position he will be the first black American president of the United States. But somehow I will choose Obama over Clinton for the reason that I want a change, maybe having a black American president would give a difference.

And if I would be given the opportunity to be Obama’s strategist I would just advice him to pursue his plans in strengthening the economy of their country. As we all know America is facing an economic crisis right now and as I’ve read his plans to strengthen America’s economy all he needs to do is to just have a focus on it and revise some of the part of his economic platform so that it will have a smooth sailing journey if he will win over Hillary Clinton. And also I would like to suggest Obama to provide more programs that will benefit his people and that will lessen racial discrimination among white and black Americans. But then I would ask him to be cautious in this matter however. I would tell him that being a candidate for presidency he must look forward for things that will benefit not only his race but all.

Obama is a good speaker, lends studious ideas and captures interest of people. And also he is courageous with his fight for presidency. All he has to do is focus and continue a good and remarkable word with actions.

I think this would be enough knowing that he is a good bet for the position.

lets just BELIEVE!!!!

as Obama qouted in his website “I’m asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real changes in Washington… I’m asking you to believe in yours.”

For several months now,the presidential election in the United States of America on november is the most talked about issue in the entire globe. Even here in the Philippine television, the candidates face’s are always flash in the tv screen. This is because on november, the worls awaits for the next super powerful leader of the world. The most controversial is the race of the two most talked about candidates in american politics. As americans argue of the two because former first lady Sen. Hillary Clinton if ever will the first woman to lead the country. On the other hand, for Sen. Barack Obama, many feared of having first black american president. In that matter, american should first dwell to the problem of who’s who in the democrat party nomination.

If i were a strategist, i would go for Sen. Hillary Clinton. A simple yet remarkable advices are my offering. This is to focus on the issues where most people are concerned . And today, the things she should concentrate on her platforms is the cracking economic stability of the country which is slowly going down. If Hillary will be able to use this as an arm for her position in the democrat party nomination and the election on november, she will definitely hit the throne.
:)

126. kcirtap Bpag 3-1 - February 14, 2008

The fight for presidency between the two is at large either of the two of them should win it will be a controversial one. If Obama wins he will be the first Black president in the history of America same for Hilary for if she will have the votes of the people she will be the first Woman president of America. Both of them are very hard workers their platforms were as good as each other these platforms but for me Obama’s platform is much practicable in these times.

If I may be given the chance to give an advice to Obama he should use his race advantage in order to win against Hilary. Although black Americans aren’t as popular as the whites in terms of politics I think it would be a big break for blacks if Obama sits for presidency. Next we are aware of the current economic problem that jeopardize the economy of the US, may be by handing proposals and plans that is best suited to resolve the problem is a good thing to do but, be aware that your plans should be full proof and easy to execute because if the people fails to believe that your proposals is worthwhile it may lead to a decline of supports. Also his platform in stopping the iraq war is much likely practicable because today many Americans are sick and tired about the war in iraq maybe strengthening this platform may greatly affect his popularity. Bear in mind that a leader should not only focus on the economy only but, also on the these other three morals, industry and the people should you analyze the problems on each of these fields and provide a concrete plan on how to solve these analyzed problem it may lead you to victory. Next politically you should get the hearts of the delegates because you need a strong political alliance through these delegates in order dump the strong political background of Hilary.

Obama has an very intriguing family background a son of a farmer and now a presidentiable it would be a nice thing to touch the hearts of the of the poor Americans. Also I think that all is subjected to change even the powerful United States of America is not excluded to that and by this I give my vote to Barack Obama Jr.

I rest my case thank you….

We all know that most citizens in the United States still have the conservatism view in having a female president. So we must remember that not only are we making history by making Hillary Rodham Clinton as the first female president but we are also taking a step further in gender equality. Because she’s the former first lady she must take steps to erase that image in the peoples mind and replace it with the image of an independent woman that is not under the shadow of her husband former president Bill Clinton, she should use to her advantage the influence of the media, as what former president John F. Kennedy did, to relay to the public her views in the different issues that the United States is now facing. She must find ways to appeal not only to the old but also the youth. She must ensure the public that for her Americans are Americans no matter what your race is. She must also clearly present her goals and beliefs to the public starting with (1) pull-out of US troops in Iraq, the citizens of America are already tired of the long campaign in Iraq especially since there is no threat coming from Iraq, (2) the failing economy of the United States that is worrying the country greatly, (3) the problem of the rising number of illegal immigrants in the US that is creating social and economic instabilities, and (4) lastly the issue in health care where she must propose a reform for those who are concerned of the rising health care cost. She must also remember that she must make sure that the promises she will tell to the public are not just wasted words for political promises are the hardest to believe.

The best foreign Policy laid down by the three tough contenders for the most awaited US-Presidential Elections?

Hillary Clinton

-The current front-runner for the Democratic nomination for president shares much of President Bush’s dangerous attitudes toward international law and human rights.
Senator Hillary Clinton has opposed restrictions on U.S. arms transfers and police training to governments that engage in gross and systematic human rights abuses. Indeed, she has supported unconditional U.S. arms transfers and police training to such repressive and autocratic governments as Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Pakistan, Equatorial Guinea, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Kazakhstan, and Chad, just to name a few. She has also refused to join many of her Democratic colleagues in signing a letter endorsing a treaty that would limit arms transfers to countries that engage in a consistent pattern of gross and systematic human rights violations.

Barack Obama

-Senator Obama talks about the future with a sense of optimism that the other candidates seem to lack.
The rise in popular support for Senator Barack Obama’s candidacy reflects the growing skepticism among Democratic and independent voters regarding both the Bush administration’s and the Democratic Party establishment’s foreign policies. Indeed, on issues ranging from Iraq to nuclear weapons to global warming to foreign aid, as well as his general preference for diplomacy over militarism, Obama has also staked out positions considerably more progressive than the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry.

John McCain

-For many Democrat voters, John McCain represents the least bad Republican presidential candidate on the ballot. Democrats not wanting the Bible in the White House are disinclined toward southern Baptist Mike Huckabee, and those not wanting a doubled-in-size Guantanamo or an immigrant-free America find Mitt Romney completely unlikable. McCain seems to be the most willing to build bipartisan coalitions, the most willing to give detainees legal representation, and the most willing to tackle global warming – all of which makes many Democrat voters fonder of McCain than any other Republican candidate.
John McCain represents the least unfavorable option. He is strong on defense, envisions small and accountable government, promotes fiscal conservatism, supports pro-life and traditional marriage values, and is an experienced soldier who paid his dues in Vietnam.

So…. for me…..
The best candidate so far is Barack Obama in terms of the Foreign Policies they laid down since it is only he who has promised to focus on achieving concrete outcomes that will advance democracy.

OBAMA

For me, the most credible among the three candidates to run for presidency is Barack Obama because, from the very beginning of the article that I read about him, he was the one who oppose of going to war in Iraq, and to quote what he warned, “an occupation of undetermined length, with undetermined costs, and undetermined consequences.” He is a very consistent, principled, and vocal opponent of the war in Iraq. Unlike the other two, it could be that they also have a good foreign policy but they voted of going to war in Iraq without having a second thought of how it would be, and now President Bush over used his power or the authority to Iraq but fails in the latter outcome because there had been no evident weapons of mass destruction. The motion of going to war put United States in a bad fiscal situation because of the mismanagement of money for they splurge their money in war than in other important things to consider for the affairs of their country. One of Obama’s action if he will be put to presidency is to end the war in Iraq by removing American troops from Iraq, reconcile with the Iraqi leaders, regional diplomacy, humanitarian initiative by providing $2 billion to expand services to Iraqi refugees in neighboring countries, and ensure that Iraqis inside their own country can find a safe-haven. About Iran, the problem of the threat of terrorism cannot be answered by the mere thought of war because there are other options to consider in preventing the threat of terrorism and not only war itself. He also thought of renewing American diplomacy which refuses to talk with the leaders whom they don’t like that doesn’t make them look tough but arrogant, it denies opportunities to make progress, and it makes it harder for America to rally international support for their leadership. Progress cannot be made unless they draw on strong international support. Obama is also willing to double foreign assistance to $50 billion to achieve the goal of cutting extreme poverty, and help the world’s weakest state to build healthy and educated communities, reduce poverty, develop markets, and generate wealth. There are a lot more things of his foreign policy that made him, for me, to be a credible man who is worthy of the votes of the American people.
Obama is much worthy to be the president of U.S. because he is a consistent principled and vocal man.
sir, i’m sorry..am i on the right track?i posted my assignment here?

For me, i think that the best candidate for presidency in the USA is Obama.

Because it is good to know that Obama is stand up guy when it comes to doing what he can for those he cares about.

He has a lot on his plate and make it in his best effort to remedy the situation currently happening in Kenya. And i think that his principles of foreign policy is consist of selected national interest presumably formulated into a logically consistent whole that is then implemented.

Ofcourse ,his foreign policy objective is to establish friendly relations regardless of creed, race, ideology and social system and to promote as much relations in all field of activities.

132. romnick - February 14, 2008

If I were the strategist of Sen. Hillary Clinton I will suggest strengthening the humor that she has. For the reason that, Sen. Hillary Clinton will soon make a decision about the direction of her campaign, like in the South Carolina Democratic primary on Jan. 26. Her options are either to play nice and perhaps lose, or to go on the attack and win.

In a tight race against Sen. Barack Obama, Senator Clinton may choose the latter. Her recent remarks about the words and actions of civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr. were probably a trial balloon to gauge the impact of going negative. But in so doing, she could alienate several major Democratic constituencies – African-Americans and youth – perhaps for a generation to come. There is no limit to the politics of destruction possible in South Carolina. George W. Bush set a precedent for that in 2000 by shredding John McCain, who had won New Hampshire.

Until her poor performance in Iowa, Clinton had been banking on South Carolina votes. Bill Clinton had proven his “comeback kid” status in 1992 by winning South Carolina and other states, mostly due to African-American support. In 2006, Clinton allies pushed forward the South Carolina primary so it would come on the heels of the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary. They hoped that winning there would clinch the nomination after New Hampshire and Iowa victories.

But now, Clinton’s African-American “constituency” in the South has someplace else to go: to a truly viable black candidate. Hence the strategy behind carefully crafted Bill and Hillary statements that 1) the campaign would not go negative in the Granite State and 2) the press was being too easy on Senator Obama. Notice was given, it seemed: If only slightly veiled critiques of the junior senator from Illinois don’t do the job, we will unleash old-fashioned attack ads
The problem is that the lessons of Clinton’s New Hampshire strategy are mixed. Besides the seminegativity, she also showed a very human face. Which tactic was more influential? Or was the combination of both the critical factor?

If she went on the attack, Clinton would be breaking with Democratic presidential politics of the past – to treat African-American candidates gently and avoid alienating black voters. In 1988, when the Rev. Jesse Jackson debated Al Gore and Michael Dukakis, both white candidates saw no advantage in being negative toward him. Mr. Jackson was popular among a key constituency and had little chance to win anyway.

Technology is another liability. In old-style negative campaigning you could localize your stabs by, for example, running attack ads in one district or sending out smearing mailers to certain groups. But with the advent of blogs and YouTube, all politics is global. Any anti-Obama ad will be seen by the whole country. What might work in rural South Carolina might be embarrassing when watched online in Santa Barbara, Calif.
And, of course, when you sling mud there is a backlash. Clinton has worked hard to make herself appear genial yet serious in more recent speeches and in ads. An attack-dog stance will hardly raise her own approval rating for the general election.

not too late!!!! soxalite hir.. hahaha!!!!!!

I would choose Hillary Clinton not because I think she’s better than Obama (actually on my personal view, there’s a predisposition that Obama will win over Hillary based on on-going primaries). Probably I chose Hillary over Obama because feminista ata ako. hehe! Hypocrisy aside, it’s hard to select between the two and then to give advice to the chosen one… apparently this issue is in American setting and the only source of my info are the media (which I cant measure the reliability).

Another thing, Democrats are now seemingly in the fail-safe situation after all. Going back to Hillary and Obama, I wonder what US political atmosphere would be if a black American would lead the country. But I am more excited in a scenario where both US and the Philippines have a woman in a presidential office at the same time (in case GMA will not suffer from what happened to Erap’s fortune—haha!!). Boosting girl power na ang drama… ang cute diba.. haha!!! Wala lang.

Advice??? I advise her to be independent from her husband… she has to stand on her own, be strong as she wants to be… ( GMA???) Be Hillary Clinton, not just a wife of a former president. She should also give consideration to consistency, I believe that inconsistency disintegrates credibility and her incredibility will wrack herself. So she should be sound to all the decisions and words she publicize especially those dealing with sensitive issues (esp. war sa Middle East, immigration, health care etc. ) as Obama she should also pose herself as an instrument for change. (ganun naman talaga eh.. sino b nman ang ayaw ng pagbabago esp. economic depressed ang US,khit naman hindi, xempre they were looking forward na mag aggrandize)but beside of mere statement she should show clearer vision.

Clinton, mccain obama

The fight for the US presidency has been very tight between the 3 top candidates, Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton, Senator John McCain and Democratic Senator Barack Obama.
All of the three US Presidential Candidates differ on how they view issues concerning not only the USA but the entire world as well.
But my vote goes to……
Non other than Democratic Senator Barack Obama.
We all know that the result of the up coming US Presidential Elections will have a great impact not only within the USA but all over the world. (we know how USA dominates the international arena). And for that I believe that Obama will be the best choice to be the next USA president. Even though Obama is not as experienced as Clinton and McCain, since he is serving his first Senate term from Illinois but comes at it differently. He portrays his relative youth and modest experience as a refreshing contrast to McCain’s and Clinton’s long-standing ties to a Washington culture that many voters seem eager to forget. Also, Obama’s fresh ideas and young thinking could make a better change. His approaches towards several issues is far way different but more appropriate as it looks than that of Clinton and McCain.
That’s why,, if we want a real change.. vote OBAMA!

There are certain issues that arises in the upcoming presidential election in US (1) war in Iraq; (2) healthcare and; (3) immigration policy which these presidentiables should address to clinch the Democrat Party and the election in November.

if i were the strategist for Barack Obama I’ll suggest him to have a highly qualified staff that would give him advise in order for him to render exeutive decisions. There are some people looked at the candidates based on their experiences on politics, and sin ce Obama’s experience is not as good as Clinton had, He’ll be guided on his e xecutive decisions through his trusted staff.

Another thing is, He must have tolay his plans, his goals and objectives and his aspirations regarding the issues especially the three primary issues concerning for the upliftment of the American People’s cultural and socio-economic life.

I’ll suggest him also to address the discrimination between the white and the black Americans, and go on to the strengthening their civil rights.

Lastly, Barack Obama must have to be transparent, in able for the American will see his administration or can overview on how he may administer the state…. :)

-un lang!

if i am a political strategist and will choose between Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton, I’ll choose Barack Obama.. I think it’s time to prove to the Whites that a Black can also be a better president… in order to win the democratic race, Obama should not only focus on the issue of racial discrimination but should focus more on how to improve the economy of the United States…

Obama vs. Clinton vs. Mc Cain

I really don’t have such knowledge about the presidentiables of US.. But can say that..

If Hillary Clinton will win the US Presidential Election, it is 1st time in the history of USA that a woman president will manage with the affairs of the government, she will likely to continue the works of his husband the former US president Bill Clinton.. a shadow of the former administration, but on 2nd thought she will be more of a respected president rather than George W. Bush who is the current president of US.. for Clinton address the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.. and more opportunity and equal rights on women..

if Barrack Obama manage to win the presidential race it will be a 1st time for US to have a black president.. it will give more opportunity and equal rights for the black americans, because their still such racial discrimination among the blacks..

in the case of Mc Cain if feel that he is the less contender.. he is a republican just like bush, he may likely to continue the works of Bush..

for me Barrack Obama will likely to win the presidential race.. he is dynamic and the spirit to fight for the rights of his fellowmen really runs down to him.. and between the US presidentiables, Obama is likely the most sincere of them all

140. CARLO mayo Antalan - February 14, 2008

The top two contenders for the Democratic nomination, have engaged in an increasingly bitter war of words… Some have became too personal and out of the ring.

-obama-

This is a fight of credentials and platform. The people acknowledge your position and stand on policy issues- foreign, economic.

But too stoopdown to mudslinging would do you no good. People shall decide base on what you can do for them not on how many bitter words you throw against your opponents.

Who in the world would like to hear his president uttering whole damn crap?

You’ve got alot of more important things to do and say…

141. manalili kriszel - February 14, 2008

my vote is for obama, why? because were not talking about the background of a one person that want to be a leader. i think it’s in the attitude of a person. obama is a good person. if ever that he won, he will be the first black president in US….

Betsy on….

……..HILLARY, OBAMA or McCAIN

Sen.Hillary Clinton as Ms.”Grace-under-Pressure”

Sen.Barack Obama as “Mr.Goodie”

Sen.John McCain as “The Tough Guy”

Choices are made by Americans at an early stage on who would be their next President. Americans are wise voters and they would really be into details when it comes to electing their leaders.

The presidential candidates have laid each of their positions on Foreign Policies. Be it the War on Iraq, issues on Free Trade or dealing with global climate changes. Hillary Clinton as a future dummy of former president Bill Clinton voted for “YES” for the Bush’s “War on Terror”. Though she knows how to play the game and abruptly made counter-statements though the President “…abused the power to execute”. And is now on saying that she is for a renewed international cooperation concerning Iraq. Telling the public that she for diplomacy and negotiation. Her inconsistency on Free trade issues. Years ago she was all for NAFTA and suddenly due to her candidacy she now declare how NAFTA cause American workers to suffer due to free trade. Inconsistent

The glory of the African-Americans, Sen.Barack Obama taking positions like “NO to US-IRAQ war” and setting an alternative on how to end the conflict. And making solutions to America’s long time problem on how to be energy-independent and making it clear that if given a chance, his administration is for disarmament.
Being part of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, it would show that Obama knows his position on pressing issues with America. He is also someone who would resort into diplomacy and negotiation.

Lastly, Sen.John McCain, just like Sen.Clinton, having served at the part of the Senate Armed Services Committee. It’s apparent how they would make positions regarding the US-IRAQ war. And he also has sponsored pro-American policies like cheaper medicine bill.

On taking a pick, I would base it on how consistent one is on his positions. And the alternative he offers in case he is against something that was already been executed. It would be Sen.Barack Obama, (I may look African but I’m definitely not). His Foreign Policies would best serve humanity and the Americans. Hillary and McCain are both for the War on Iraq. Hillary has been inconsistent and I’m afraid she would turn into Bill’s puppet.Sen.McCain, I’m afraid is from the US Navy. I’m sure America doesn’t want another Bush in the making on McCain’s personality.

143. KHem Visca - February 14, 2008

hillary clinton

concentrate much on presenting the people your stand on international issues… how you can turn the wheel on iraq.

when you you had supported the 2002 congressional resolution authorizing Bush to use force in Iraq and voted against the enactment on Sen Russ Feingold’s measure ordering bush to withdraw most u.s. troops and now vying for presidency, you know that you had backloaded a great responsibility.

What the world wants, more likely, is a little less American leadership. and what the americans wnat is more likely a little less participation of the u.s. in war on other nations…

show the peolple how they you can be trusted with you foreign policy. how right and correct are your stand.

you policies are good and somethin americans should really look at and consider. looking at your economic policies, you’ve really must
prepared for those. but one thing i’m looking at and have question with is the tax cut…

the u.s. as per recent reports got problems with its economy. do you think lowering down tax collection would really benefit the nation as a whole?

this is one i believe needs alot of more reviews… but overall, i see a brighter america in you. goodluck.

148. angela 4-2 - February 14, 2008

All the candidates favor ending the war in Iraq. Their stand is as follows:
(1) Obama is for ending the war in Iraq including the fight to finish Al Qaeda and the fight in Afghanistan. He wants to close all the bases that were used for torture and abuse.
(2) Clinton is also for ending the war in Iraq. She has devised a three-step plan to end it. She wants to bring the troops home, work to bring to the region, and to replace military force with a new diplomatic initiative to engage countries around the world in securing Iraqi’s future.
(3) McCain believes that they should not fail in Iraq. He wants to help the Iraqi people in building a stable, secure and a representative state in achieving enduring peace in the region and the world.

In the foreign policy department, all the candidates are for ending the war. I find the ways of the candidates almost similar if not alike. It is a matter of global policy to end all wars. All of them feel that it should be stopped now. It is the manner on how to do it that differentiates them.
(1)Obama is for annihilating the Al Qaeda terror group which wrecked havoc on the United States through the use of planes whose pilots were trained by the pilots in their country.
(2)Clinton is for securing Iraq’s future through the help of the United States and be its Big Brother to guide it. This is the same thing that happened during the Vietnam war.

The main concern of the three candidates are foreign policies that would benefit the world.

149. Grace BPAG 3-1 - February 14, 2008

“Let us be the generation that reshapes our economy to compete in the digital age. Let’s set high standards for our schools and give them the resources they need to succeed. Let’s recruit a new army of teachers, and give them better pay and more support in exchange for more accountability. Let’s make college more affordable, and let’s invest in scientific research, and let’s lay down broadband lines through the heart of inner cities and rural towns all across America.”

This was said by Barack Obama on his Presidential announcement speech. If I would be given a chance to be one of the strategists of Obama I would suggest that he emphasize his platform about education. I do believe that even if America is considered as a first world country there still a lot people who cannot have a good education, and I do believe that education is the main key for a successful government, the stability of economic, social and political aspects. Definitely Barack Obama can do this, I believe that he can do change. Obama can inspire a lot of people, which is what I think he should emphasize more. I believe that more public appearance and articulate speeches can touch the heart of Americans, and for the Democrats to decide that he deserves to be the next American President. I also think that Obama should emphasize his being black, cause I think this is his edge among other candidates.

Let the people see his spiritual side that he is not only thinking about politics, but consider God a guide to his politics. Let the people see that he equally sees white Americans and black Americans; because I believe somehow there are doubts at the back of white Americans minds that black would be more prioritize since there is a black president ( this is only my assumption : 0). He has to show the whole America that the change that he believes can happen to everybody.

150. sane bps4.2 - February 14, 2008

We cannot avoid the topic of whoever US presidential could best fit the role. Being in the Southeast or in any part of the globe, it would be imprudent not to consider the next world leader.

Among the top three contenders, John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, I find the last one to present the better if not the best foreign policy that could preeminently serve humanity. A person who

McCain boasts that no Republican candidate running for president has the foreign policy experience and credentials than he does. As he spent the better part of thirty years in the Senate and House, serves as the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and has merited experts floating his name for Secretary of Defense and central to his policy is to over throw the rogue states that posted a global threat by arming and equipping the military forces. Whereas the former first lady of Pres. Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton had been involved with her husband’s work in the White House as she enjoyed many trips and the hosting of dignitaries around the world making diplomacy as the core theme of her foreign policy while she vowed never to make personal meetings with leaders of the rogue state so as not to be used for propagandas. Obama as an Afro-American appeared to break the racial barrier who could best relate to anyone and as a democrat, he also advocates diplomatic relation among nations. What stands out is that he is willing to commune with the rogue states to settle disputes. Such policy evidently aims to create a harmony in the world as it will be a guideline of a world leader.

After watching the Fahrenheit 9/11, I was indeed shown with a clearer picture of the Bush’s administration. Particularly on the war on Iraq, I was moved that a US President could always declare war against any state he wish to put blame for his own mistake. I don not deny that war is always futile. I concede with Obama when he says he did not oppose all wars, but he did oppose a “dumb war.”

151. Gerald Peter Corton - February 14, 2008

I would not make my introduction long as we already know that there are three tough contenders for the United States presidency, as well as the importance of the said post, not only for the United States but to the world as a whole.

The thing is, we have to compare the foreign policy of the three presidential candidates, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain, and based on that, we must make a conclusion on who has the best foreign policy for the benefit not only of the USA, but that of the humanity.

There are issues that could give us a clearer picture of what the foreign policies of the three candidates are. Let me begin with the controversial war on Iraq which broke out few years ago, when President George W. Bush alleged that Iraq possessed and continuously producing weapons of mass destruction. If we are to compare the policy of the three candidates on the said issue, we will see a variation on their stand on the issue at hand. As to Obama, he opposed the war on Iraq from the very beginning and until now is initiating for the troop withdrawal there. He was even criticized by the former Australian PM for his call of withdrawing US troops in Iraq by March of the present year. But through it all, Obama stands still on his beliefs. On the contrary, McCain of the Republican Party voted in favor of the US led invasion to Iraq. He was an identified ally of President George W. Bush. The “War on Terror Bills” of President George W. Bush was supported by McCain. Among the three, Senator Hillary Clinton is somehow different. She voted in favor of the war on Iraq, but later became highly critical with the way the war is being executed. She’s called for the U.S. to lead renewed international cooperation on Iraq and a number of other issues. In short, it seems that she is now having different policy compared when she voted in favor of war on Iraq. To sum up their policy on war on Iraq, Obama opposed, McCain favored while Clinton favored but criticizes the execution of war on Iraq. In this aspect, who has the best foreign policy? As we see, the war on Iraq is no longer bringing any good to all of us. There is no proof as to the allegation of the Bush regarding weapons of mass destruction and the Iraq dictator is already executed. There is even a study which states that more than 900 lies were uttered by US Government’s high officials including President George W. Bush himself, to serve the interests of the United States, even innocent lives were at stake. That being said, it seems that the policy of Obama regarding this issue of war on Iraq is best suitable to adopt. The United States needs to put a stop on this baseless and nowhere heading war on Iraq, as many lives were already taken and million dollars worth of property has already been destroyed. I would not go for Hillary Clinton who voted for the war yet is now criticizing the execution of war on Iraq. She must have been very careful with her decision as life and property taken due to this war cannot be restored, even if she renewed her stand. I recall that it was Hillary Clinton who once said that the position of presidency is not for the less experience candidate and “on-the-job trainees”, pertaining most likely to Barack Obama. But I ask, who appears to be less experienced based solely on their stand regarding the war on Iraq? Is it the one who stands firm on his opposition to Iraq war or is it the one who favors it but later became highly critical on the way it is being executed? You decide.

In terms of free trade, McCain generally supports the same while Clinton has mixed positions on free trade issues. Of course, free trade is good for the Americans. But what about for the third world countries? Can they match the products of the United States of America? There must be a way or policy that will protect the interests not only of the USA but of the other countries as well when it comes to free trade issue.

About Global Climate Change, both McCain and Obama deals with the said issue. Global climate change knows no territorial boundaries to the extent that it likewise affect not only those who were directly responsible in contributing to the severing condition of our climate. Good thing, Obama and McCain have policy on the said issue as it is a common problem of the nations of the world which needs to be ended for the benefit of everyone.

Regarding the Israel-Palestine dispute, Senator Clinton supports Israel. She advocated peace in the said country as well as its right to exist at peace.

The fight on proliferation of nuclear weapons is part of Senator Obama’s foreign policy. We all know what danger nuclear weapons can bring as evidently shown on what happened in Japan during the Second world war. I am with Senator Obama in his fight towards this untoward use of force which leads not only to fear and harm but also hinders the achievement of international peace.

On the issue of genocide and conflicts in Darfur, John McCain called for a strong action to end the genocide in that area while Senator Clinton has been outspoken on the failure to end genocide in Darfur. Their intention are both good. The United States must act in order to bring back order in Darfur so as not to make the situation worst than ever.

Those are just some of the foreign policies of the United States of America presidential candidates. With that I conclude, that each of them has policy that is advantageous over the policy of another. But come to think of it, it is still Senator Barack Obama who has the best foreign policy among them. He stands firm on his decision and is not only thinking the future of the United States but also of the other countries as well.

At this time that the leadership of the United States in the international scene is being questioned due to the shortcomings of the present administration, the USA needs a fresh new start. They need not a president who is very well identified with the present president nor of the former president. More than that, the USA needs a president who is credible enough before the whole world. A leader who is not a perpetrator of war but an advocate of peace. The USA needs a leader that will manifest that the long tradition of discrimination is already a thing of the past.

With his foreign policies, Barack Obama, for me is the best option that Americans has to choose if they want change not only in the USA, but in the whole world.

A person who knows what he is doing as he decided to run in the earlier part of his life.

153. ernie talaro - February 14, 2008

the struggle to have the presidency in the united states is an interesting and very intriguing fight between three competitive candidates; Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton, Senator John McCain and Democratic Senator Barack Obama.

and based on the debates and personal view on the situation, Democratic Senator Barack Obama is the most suited/fitted for the position. as proven, he could make a great change in the political status of the state. if he will have the position, it is a great break through to the racial freedom, ideology, and social system of the state.

Democratic Senator Barack Obama is going to be more effective, in leadership and economic aspect of the state if he is going to be more responsive and affective in the deeper social aspect of the state which is the people and the needs of the people.

BARACK OBAMA’S PLAN TO SECURE AMERICA AND RESTORE [Their] STANDING

“When I am this party’s nominee, my opponent will not be able to say that I voted for the war in Iraq; or that I gave George Bush the benefit of the doubt on Iran; or that I supported Bush-Cheney policies of not talking to leaders that we don’t like. And he will not be able to say that I wavered on something as fundamental as whether or not it is ok for America to torture — because it is never ok… I will end the war in Iraq… I will close Guantanamo. I will restore habeas corpus. I will finish the fight against Al Qaeda. And I will lead the world to combat the common threats of the 21st century: nuclear weapons and terrorism; climate change and poverty; genocide and disease. And I will send once more a message to those yearning faces beyond our shores that says, “You matter to us. Your future is our future. And our moment is now.”

— Barack Obama, Des Moines, Iowa, November 10, 2007

I believe that among the three given choices, Barack Obama seems to be the most reasonable choice when it comes to Foreign Policies, Although all three candidates have given their stand among the war on Iraq, Obama Did not forget the foreign relations of the USA, He did not just use the issue of the war on Iraq to promote his candidacy but he also presented other issues to solidify his status as a credible candidate, examples of which are
* Iran
* Renewing American Diplomacy
* Nuclear Weapons
* Building a 21st Century Military
* Bipartisanship and Openness
among those issues, more or less Obama is sending a message to his competition that he’s not gonna win just to e named president, he’s there to make a mark in history

— Barack Obama, Des Moines, Iowa, November 10, 2007

*Obviously my vote goes to Barack Obama..

i know all politicians love to give promises during election..but then again the thing is,it’s who i think could probably convert such promises into realities..

looking at their foreign policies,Obama caught my attention with this:
Renewing American Diplomacy

The Problem: The United States is trapped by the Bush-Cheney approach to diplomacy that refuses to talk to leaders we don’t like. Not talking doesn’t make us look tough – it makes us look arrogant, it denies us opportunities to make progress, and it makes it harder for America to rally international support for our leadership. On challenges ranging from terrorism to disease, nuclear weapons to climate change, we cannot make progress unless we can draw on strong international support.

Talk to our Foes and Friends: Obama is willing to meet with the leaders of all nations, friend and foe. He will do the careful preparation necessary, but will signal that America is ready to come to the table, and that he is willing to lead. And if America is willing to come to the table, the world will be more willing to rally behind American leadership to deal with challenges like terrorism, and Iran and North Korea’s nuclear programs.

Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Obama will make progress on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict a key diplomatic priority. He will make a sustained push – working with Israelis and Palestinians – to achieve the goal of two states, a Jewish state in Israel and a Palestinian state, living side by side in peace and security.

Expand our Diplomatic Presence: To make diplomacy a priority, Obama will stop shuttering consulates and start opening them in the tough and hopeless corners of the world – particularly in Africa. He will expand our foreign service, and develop the capacity of our civilian aid workers to work alongside the military.

Fight Global Poverty: Obama will embrace the Millennium Development Goal of cutting extreme poverty around the world in half by 2015, and he will double our foreign assistance to $50 billion to achieve that goal. He will help the world’s weakest states to build healthy and educated communities, reduce poverty, develop markets, and generate wealth.

Strengthen NATO: Obama will rally NATO members to contribute troops to collective security operations, urging them to invest more in reconstruction and stabilization operations, streamlining the decision-making processes, and giving NATO commanders in the field more flexibility.

Seek New Partnerships in Asia: Obama will forge a more effective framework in Asia that goes beyond bilateral agreements, occasional summits, and ad hoc arrangements, such as the six-party talks on North Korea. He will maintain strong ties with allies like Japan, South Korea and Australia; work to build an infrastructure with countries in East Asia that can promote stability and prosperity; and work to ensure that China plays by international rules.

Though mejo parang puro pangarap lang xa,mas ok parin xa tingnan..It may seem to be a blueprint for America’s development, but then again it also caters other problems that needs to be resolved..Though it would definitely be a long-term goal, but atleast someone had a chance to dream for great things ahead of us..not just for America but for the world..

Someone should initiate change..and that Catalyst for change is Barack Obama..

that’s it..

158. Alex Sevilla - February 14, 2008

Among the three contenders, I will pick Obama. I his intention in changing the image of America from a country of personal gain and interest to a super power whose duty is to guard the safety of nearby states.

These are the lines of Obama that help me to decide on this matter:

In Latin America, from Mexico to Argentina, we failed to adequately address concerns about immigration and equity and economic growth. In Africa, we have allowed genocide to persist for over four years in Darfur and have not done nearly enough to answer the African Union’s call for more support to stop the killing.

To build a better, freer world, we must first behave in ways that reflect the decency and aspirations of the American people. This means ending the practices of shipping away prisoners in the dead of night to be tortured in far-off countries, of detaining thousands without charge or trial, of maintaining a network of secret prisons to jail people beyond the reach of the law …

…helped forge peace in the Middle East.
…confronted climate change and secured the weapons that could destroy the human race.
…we defeated global terrorists and brought opportunity to forgotten corners of the world

HOWEVER

The big question is whether the American people will support this cause. At the end of the day, the Americans will still push for a leader who advocates American dream of dominance.
Americans will always be Americans. they may be idealistic in having a new paradime but not a drastic change.

For the past decade, the acceptance towards a black presidentiable is a big no no. they rather have a lady-white American president than a black one. America is not yet ready to accept such change.

Selecting the best presidential cadidate is not as easy thing to do. you’ll ever know what they can do until they are eleceted inthe position that can either surprise or disappont us.

The United States’ voters are in the process of choosing a new president. Among the cadidates were McCain, Obama and Clinton. Before giving the bet from the three candidates, let us examine first their platforms and policies..

McCain

John McCain has bold solutions to stimulate the American economy. He believes taxes should be low, simple, and fair and has a track record of commitment to these principles. he also believes that one of the greatest threats to our liberty and the Constitutional framework that safeguards our freedoms are willful judges who usurp the role of the people and their representatives and legislate from the bench. As President, John McCain will nominate judges who understand that their role is to faithfully apply the law as written, not impose their opinions through judicial fiat.

Obama

He wants to end the war on Iraq and a known critique fo that war .Obama has been consistent and vocal opponent of the war . In 2005 he called for the withdrawal of US troops in Iraq, in 2007 he introduced legislation i the Senate to gradaully remove combat troops in Iraq but wants to keep a small force to protect their Embassies and Diplomats .

Clinton

Hillary will ensure that all those who sacrifice on behalf of our country receive the help and care they need. They not only deserve our country’s gratitude and support; they deserve the gold standard in health care and benefits when they return home. That is our most solemn obligation to those who have put their lives on the line for our country. Hillary’s roadmap out of Iraq, the Iraq Troop Protection and Reduction Act of 2007, is a plan to end the war before the next president takes the oath of office. But if the Bush administration won’t end the war, as president and commander in chief, Hillary will.

They got good platforms and policies. The focused on issues that their country is having ryt now and they provide good projects and prorams for the welfare of the people as well as for the continuing progress of their country. But the question is, are those platorms and policies are effective? feasible? Who among the candidates can serve well? i,myself can’t tell which is which, but if i were to choose between the three contenders, i’ll go for Obama.

Senator Obama’s candidacy for President has inspired millions of Americans to believe in their power to make America great again. I believe in him and i know he can make difference..

with only 8 months before the november 2008 elections in the united states, theres a very tight race between the democrat hillary and obama and the republican who has the biggest lead over his rivals in their party, mccain. does the super tuesday predetermine wether the next chief executive of the white house will be the first woman or the first black president as portrayed by the democrats who has the advantage of winning the seat according to some news, or by another republican? let us see their foreign policies.

senator obama from the very start of the debate in the senate opposed the war in iraq. he advocates a regional conference involving syria and iran as one part of an ultimate iraq solution. obama has also spoken out on the importance of energy independence and the need for U.S. leadership in dealing with global climate change.
obama also inspires his fellow black americans and persuade non-blacks to support him through his speeches and his views on global healthcare and global issues on environment.

senator hillary clinton, on the other hand, voted in favor of the war in Iraq, but has since been highly critical of how the war’s execution. she’s called for the U.S. to lead renewed international cooperation on iraq and a number of other issues. clinton has had mixed positions on free trade issues. she is a leading supporter of israel and has been outspoken on the failure to end genocide indarfur

mccain voted in favor of the iraq war, and he says the U.S. may need to increase the number of troops there to restore order. he has supported almost all of bush’s “war on terror” bills. mccain generally supports free trade. he has called for strong action to end genocide in darfur. global climate change is seen by some as mccain’s “signature issue”.

these three contenders for the presidency in the united states has somewhat same line of foreign policies butjust differ on how they prioritize one policy over the other.. the world and not only the U.S. alone is also considered in the foreign policy of the wannabes especially of the democrats..

for me the best candidate for the position of being the president of the most influential and powerful nation in the world is non other than its first woman president, hillary rodham clinton. she is one of the brilliant lawyer of the U.S., an experienced political figure and a powerful and influential woman…. although not full of rhetorics in his speeches, you may feel his sincerity and willingness to serve the people.

the result of the US preidential election will hav a very great impact to the world especially to the loyal allies such as the philippines. so if WE RELLY WANTED TO MOVE FORWARD, VOTE!!
HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON……….

better late than never…
pcnsya npo late n c hilary, barack at john ko!(close kmi e!)

nwei, to start, here’s a bit of comparison of the three top US presidential candidates:

Global climate change is seen by some as McCain’s “signature issue”.

if i were to choose from these three, mccain was definitely out!i would go for obama. for me, he has the best foreign policy. if people would judge according to the positions of these three presidential candidates on the war in Iraq, i think most of them would also vote for obama.

other would say that it should be hilary, to make a change.if she wins, she’ll become the first woman president of US.and as hilary puts it, “im in it, and im in it to win”…well, i doubt if she would win. barack obama is there to give her a tight fight.

barack obama emphasized ending the Iraq war, increasing energy independence, and providing universal health care as major priorities.. i think obama would really make a change in the history of US foreign policy. .obama grew up in culturally diverse surroundings and as an african american, i believe he would not only give priority to the needs of the americans, but also to other races.(sana!)

and with obama as a champion of human rights and international peace, its good to view the world as a more peaceful community, far from the hands of a superpower leader who always lust for the richness of other states without considering the sufferings of people living there..

i bet mnnlo c pareng obama..tnxt nya s kin kgb..mlki dw pag-asa nya.wahehe!

—-birthday ko n bks!!—-wla lng..another year older..haay!

sori poh at late na tong comment koh…

looking at the foreign policy of the three presidentiables we could see how they will govern the US if they will win…

one of the best foreign policy that these three should be focusing on is about their policy regarding war…especially in the war in Iraq..

madam hillary clinton voted in favor in the war in iraq contradict to his opponent barach obama who opposed this war…maybe clinton is influence by his husband…this is just my comment..while mccain is also voted in favor of the Iraq war, and he says the U.S. may need to increase the number of troops there to restore order. we could see that among them only obama opposed the war…dito pa lang makikita na natin kong sino bang kandidato ang may magandang policy…sabi nga hindi naman war ang kasagutan sa lahat ng problema…marami lang madadamay na mga inosenteng tao…maybe obama could think of the best way onhow to settle things unlike his two collegues na parang hopeless na at giyera na lang ang nakikitang solusyon sa mga problema…isa lang to sa mga foreign policy na tiningnan ko para matimbang kong sinoh ba talaga ang karapat dapat na magwagi sa darating na US election…

ito pa yung mga ibang nakita kong foreign policy nila.

mccain: He has supported almost all of President Bush’s “War on Terror” bills. McCain generally supports free trade. He has called for strong action(including a NATO-enforced “no fly” zone) to end genocide in Darfur. Global climate change is seen by some as McCain’s “signature issue”.
War on Terrorism:
McCain believes that “violent Islamist extremism,” especially as manifested in Al Qaeda, represents a signifcant threat to U.S. security, and that the primary way to address it is through vigilance, and direct and indirect confrontation, as necessary, between the United States and this enemy:

clinton: She’s called for the U.S. to lead renewed international cooperation on Iraq and a number of other issues. Clinton has had mixed positions on free trade issues. She is a leading supporter of Israel and has been outspoken on the failure to end genocide in Darfur.

obama: He advocates a regional conference involving Syria and Iran as one part of an ultimate Iraq solution. He has partnered with GOP Senator Richard Lugar in efforts to fight proliferation of nuclear weapons. Obama has also spoken out on the importance of energy independence and the need for U.S. leadership in dealing with global climate change.

with the following foreign policy and as i have read this…i must say that i like the foreign policy of barack obama that clinton and mccain…eventhough there are people who criticize him because of his foreign policy i think compare to the two mas ok naman yung sa kanya,,

kaya if i’m just an american i would rather vote for barack obama than clinton…i hope he will win in the election…goodluck!!

looking at the foreign policy of the three presidentiables we could see how they will run the government of US if they win in the election…

i just want to know what’s their foreign policy in terms of war so that i could see who among them have the best say about it..

Barack obama opposed the war in iraq while his opponent hillary clinton voted in favor of the war in Iraq, but has since been highly critical of how the war’s execution like clinton mccain also voted in favor of the Iraq war, and he says the U.S. may need to increase the number of troops there to restore order…we could see that among them only obama opposed the war…siguro he also believed that hindi lang war ang kasagutan sa lahat ng problema…tama nga naman yun, maybe he knows ways how to solve conflict in peaceful manner…hear!hear for that..

isang foriegn policy pa lang to pero makikita na natin kong sino sa kanilang tatlo ang syang nagiisip ng tunay na kapakanan ng kanyang constituents…

other foreign policy of US presidentiables

mcccain: He has supported almost all of President Bush’s “War on Terror” bills. McCain generally supports free trade. He has called for strong action(including a NATO-enforced “no fly” zone) to end genocide in Darfur. Global climate change is seen by some as McCain’s “signature issue”.

It’s not just the personality of the prospective President but what the people feel is the unique office of President that makes it a good fit for that personality.

As these results read, the worst that could happen is that Hillary and McCain will not harm the office, or American progress. Obama could harm it in his recklessness and need to get something accomplished by relying upon others so heavily.

Idealism, while an admirable quality in a leader-inspirer of activism, cannot do well in a conflicted, adversariarial role in an environment that thrives on wars, and from K Street to Iraq, the Presidency is nothing but an environment of conflict if done in a manner that respects the Constitution. That office would be very frustrating for Obama, more frustrating than it has been in running against Hillary (and/or Bill), which has been obvious in his public presentations from the biginning. Obama thrives upon success, not conflict. His style has been to remove obstacles which in the Presidency he is unable to remove, and Presidential depression is bound to be the outcome of his restlessness. He will probably self destruct.

People really have different personalities. As for Pres. Obama, it is indeed his asset to be good in public speaking and I am amaze on how he does that. I wasn’t really surprise when Pres. Obama won. For me, Obama really represent change, I just don’t know up until when he can prove to that thought of mine. Anyway, Hilary might have been also a good president but of course Americans may have been used to same last name will also end up with same results, if ever Hilary won the presidency.

(naku, nahiya naman po ako sa iba, ang hahaba ng mga sinulat nila!)
