Jack Welch, respected business leader and writer is quoted as proposing these fundamental leadership principles:
- There is only one way – the straight way. It sets the tone of the organisation.
- Be open to the best of what everyone, everywhere, has to offer. transfer learning across your organisation.
- Get the right people in the right jobs – it is more important than developing a strategy.
- An informal atmosphere is a competitive advantage.
- Make sure everybody counts and everybody knows they count.
- Legitimate self-confidence is a winner – the true test of self-confidence is the courage to be open.
- Business has to be fun – celebrations energise and organisation.
- Never underestimate the other guy.
- Understand where real value is added and put your best people there.
- Know when to meddle and when to let go – this is pure instinct.
number 10 is so true., although i got struck with number 4., coz that’s so hard to pull off. same as number 7. its so hard to create an environment of informality without looking like you’re not serious.
,,maganda lahat, but for me,number 8 is the best,,basta..the best sya for me..
i think it would be better if this part of the blog would have some example situations and further explanations. but this part is good!!!
I agree with the principle number 2. Because what if the person who you are understimating is the individual can make a good, big and great difference in your business. And you eventually rejected him in being with organization. It follows, you also abandoned the chance of making your firm more stronger and unshakable.
( sorry po nagkamali ng number na tinutukoy kaya inulit ko)I agree with the principle number 8. Because what if the person who you are understimating is the individual can make a good, big and great difference in your business. And you eventually rejected him in being with organization. It follows, you also abandoned the chance of making your firm more stronger and unshakable.

this is not just for businessman, its for everybody!
…hmmm…as i go on reading it…,,from 10-1, there is one word that constract on my mind which for me is being implied in Welchian Advise, and that is– Humbleness…and i believe this word really matters most…

na principles.
wha grabe di ko alam kung pano rito mag comment…wala kong masabi

There is only one way – the straight way. It sets the tone of the organization.

Never underestimate the other guy. well its really true…. I think I should give this blog to my manager because she always underestimating me……….
agree ako kay jacq..parang 48 laws of power.pero pwede ring sabihing 10 Commandments to be followed by leaders..tsaka somewhat similar sa 9 fruits of the holy spirit sa bible..ndi lang dpat isa ang ibear mu..dapat lahat..
panalo to..
self-confidence is an ingredient that we must never forget to make leadership a sumptuous meal.
these should be practiced at all times, even by non-leaders, since as i’ve previously mentioned we are leaders in our own right.
yeah…. number 10 dba nga sabe sa lolo’s pamana lighten ur load…if it’s heavy na which means have the courage and learn to accept to let go of the things which is not for you…
who knows greater things are yet to come…

parang 48 laws of power lang…kaso 10 lang to eh…

rule no. 5
Make sure everybody counts and everybody knows they count.
dapat lang.. minsan ito ang dahilan ng mga nasisirang organization… masyadong pinapahalagahan ang iilan… at binabalewala ang mga taong gustong maging tunay na parte ng gawain… so sad…
sabi nga ng quote: never take for granted ppol who surrounds you… you may realize their worth when they are gone… di lang yun para sa heart issue anoh… pati sa ganitong may mas makabuluhang bagay ay nagagamit din siya… hehehehe .. (nagsermon ba!!!!) lol
Laht tama in my opinion.. Its just a matter of how you put things in order.. ^_^
Make sure everybody counts and everybody knows they count.
EVERY SHEPHERD MUST KNOW THE CONDITION OF THEIR FLOCKS, JUST LIKE A LEADER, A LEADER MUST LEARN THE CONDITION OF THE PEOPLE HE IS LEADING TO!
APPRECIATION AND RECOGNITION STIR UP THE WEARY!
…AgrEe NmaN akO sA LahaT.. peRo paNalO pRa sa aKin unG no. 8..nyahaha…dA besT!!

hopefully lng talaga mabasa to ng mga leader ng bansa nten!hahahaha
i defintly agree all of them!…the one thing the true and the best fact is the number 2.
Be open to the best of what everyone, everywhere, has to offer. transfer learning across your organisation.
you know whats the best for everyone, know their strenghts and weaknesses..ibigay mo lhat para sa ikakabuti para sa kanila..
The quoted fundamental leadership principles are very true, ideal and practical. But the truth is, different policy applies to different organizations. It as believed that, as the saying goes,”different strokes to different folks.”
The principle in number 4, does not apply to the standards of business policy, otherwise, ethics in business and the code of ethics in many offices and other discipline wouldn’t be advisable.Just thinking aloud sir.
